I was going to post something about Reverse Innovation and then retreated since I wasn't sure if the readers of this forum heard of it before. So before I go on, here's the original article written by Tuck's very own Prof. Vijay Govindarajan (VG) and GE's CEO Jeff Immelt, back in 2009. The beauty of Tuck is that this is not simply something you read about. Since every faculty member at Tuck also teaches in the MBA program, you actually learn from VG about all of his research when you take his course.
This concept of Reverse Innovation has been hailed as a Big Idea by management journals and business leaders from around the world and has cemented VG's position as one of the top management Gurus in the world today. VG is simply an inspirational speaker and I hope you will have the opportunity to hear him speak either at Tuck or when he is in India next. Until then, here's the next best alternative:

Now that you've had a chance to get up to speed on the concept of Reverse Innovation, here's the latest HBR blog from VG and his collaborator on applying Reverse Innovation. From concept to practice.

Every year, a good number of applications we receive at Tuck are from reapplicants. People who have made up their mind to matriculate at Tuck, but for some reason or the other weren't able to get admitted, and are now fully prepared to leave no stone unturned to make it to Tuck this time around. Here's some practical advice for reapplicants coming from the Senior Associate Director of Admissions, Pat Harrison.

A number of events are coming up in India in the next couple of months, starting with a mock-class on Big Data and Data Analytics, that will be conducted by Prof. Praveen Kopalle, who is also the Associate Dean for the MBA Program at Tuck.
The mock-class is coming up on Sunday, August 16th 2015 and will be held at Taj Krishna, Hyderabad. (If this event hasn't yet been posted on the Tuck Events page, it will be in a couple of days).
And then there are a number of Tuck Admissions receptions and MBA Tour fairs coming up in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai between August 22nd and September 30th. Be sure to create your profile and sign up for these events. The events page link is below.

I don't typically talk about myself, but since this is relevant to all applicants out there, sharing it on this forum. Don't hesitate to reach out to me anytime, if you have any questions.

I've received a number of queries lately from prospective applicants who are interested in pursuing a socially relevant career - be it with an NGO or a social enterprise - about how Tuck supports students with career goals that are different from, say, consulting and investment banking.
Well, hear it from the horse's mouth. A current student who comes from a non-profit background shares his thoughts on what his experience at Tuck has been like.

Tuck alumni are a committed lot. And they're committed to a degree that's above and beyond any other business school anywhere in the world. The commitment doesn't stop at talking to students, counseling them on career plans, and recruiting on behalf of their companies. A testament to how much they appreciate their Tuck experience is the unprecedented numbers in which they give back dollars to the school.
In the most recent Tuck Annual Giving (TAG) campaign that ended on June 30, 2015, more than 70% of the Tuck alums gave unrestricted dollars to the school totaling $6.4M, which is a record for Tuck. Readers of this thread may not appreciate the 70% metric until they understand the metric at the next best performing school where about a third of the alums give back to the school every year.
Here's more on TAG 2015.

There are myriad ways to connect with Tuck Admissions, as you pursue your dream of MBA from one of the best business schools in the world, not the least of which is this thread run by yours truly. There's Tuck Connections that'll connect you with current students and alumni, there's admissions receptions starting on August 22nd in Bangalore, a mock-class that's coming up on August 16th in Hyderabad, there's the MBA Tour business school fairs that are starting on September 20th in Bangalore, to name a few.
Here's the run-down straight from the horse's mouth:

This is the kind of post I really enjoy reading. For a ringside view of a perspective from India - Indian applicant who graduated into an Indian admitted student who is graduating into an Indian student at Tuck - do not miss this post. And there's a good group of Archit's fellow students from India that will be making its way to Hanover in a few weeks. All the very best to them!

An incoming Tuckie succinctly captures why Tuck is the right place for her. I find the blog very insightful, coming from someone who hasn't even started living on campus. That shows the ease with which people get integrated into the Tuck community from the time they set foot on campus!

I've been asked this question time and again by anxious fathers and mothers of tiny tots whether Tuck is the right place for their family, and what kind of support exists if one were to move to Hanover with a family in tow. The simple answer is, "It's amazing!" Don't take my word for it. Here's a just graduated Tuckie sharing his own experiences.

With the successful conducting of the mock-class session on Big Data and Data Analytics in Hyderabad taught by Praveen Kopalle yesterday, Tuck officially kicked-off this year's events in India. Coming up next, Tuck Admissions Receptions in Bangalore (Aug 22), Mumbai (Aug 29), Delhi (Sept 12) and Chennai (Sept 19). Look forward to catching up with prospective applicants from all over the country in the coming weeks. If you haven't already registered, get going on the Tuck events page.

One of the more frequent questions I've been asked pertains to Tuck's support of students who want to pursue a non-profit career path. To that, my answer is a resounding "Yes!" Tuck's Center for Business and Society spearheads all initiatives at the confluence and business and community, and enables students to pursue the opportunities they covet. Don't take my word for it, read it from a current student's experience.

A few questions that were posed during the admissions reception in Bangalore had to do with Tuck being geographically removed from Silicon Valley and whether and how that impacts recruiting in the West Coast. The below post should set to rest, any lingering doubts in the minds of applicants.

T'17s have arrived in Hanover and they're already getting around. They were at the Silicon Valley boot camp and here's the perspective from one of the students who was there.

Note from the Dean.
Matt Slaughter, Dean of the Tuck School, welcomed the Tuck Class of 2017 to the campus. Here is a letter from him describing the class and welcoming the class.
