@garvit2108

'Crowd' is plural.
So, 1 is correct.

Point to be kept in mind #13 :died of / died from(This one is hot favorite in competitive exams. Very tricky too. )We use "died of" when we are referring to the death caused due to a specific disease.Ex: Seema died of cancer.We use "died from" when we are referring to the death caused due to non-disease reasons.Ex : Seema died from a car accident.
from where tdo u get these points..:D

Yes, you can.
OK. But what is the difference in the use of 'whom' and 'that' in this context?

@sails

I have collected (and still collecting) these points from various resources such as newspapers, standard reference books,notes and magazines.
In fact, I love to research on every verbal point and I try to come up with my own approach and opinions. I have my own way to understand grammar. I don't like to rely upon the traditional approach of learning to master VA skills.

The reason of sharing my little knowledge here is that I get immense happiness when I see that the others are getting benefit from my little knowledge.

hats off to you man seriously..!!

@bs0409

We use "whom" in that sentence if we want to stress the identity/relation of doctor (object) with the subject (Seema).

For normal expression, "that" is used. It.does not lay so-much of emphasis.

A question:

Is it right to say " Apple's products" or "products of Apple"

In the first case the noun Apple is in the possessive case which is mainly used for living beings and personified objects. So, it is right to say Apple's??

@bs0409

The appropriate usage in that context would be :

"Apple Inc.'s products" ( Considering "Apple" as the "Corporation")

Not sure regarding the sentence usage when "Apple" is considered as a fruit. So, I won't comment on it.

Point to be kept in mind #15

Family members / members of the family.

Wrong usage: Seema's family members have gone to New Delhi.

Correct usage: The members of Seema's family have gone to New Delhi.

Hi Puys,

Today's my first day of VL. Having roamed into unconquered territory, I am still doing recon.

Here's a question which has baffled me.

Three sentences have been given. You have to identify whether the 3 are logically related or not.

1. Either he or she drinks mineral water.
2. He drank Thumbs Up.
3. She drank mineral water.

Now, very quickly, many people will say that these are logically related.

But I don't think it is. Please tell me if my explanation is correct or not.

Here's my explanation :

The first sentence is in simple present & is a fact.

Now, mineral water can be drunk by one of the two.

However, the man(referred to as 'He') is free to drink anything else. No restriction has been imposed on him, expect that if the lady drinks mineral water, then he can't.
So, is it not possible that he can drink mineral water as well as Thumbs up?

If it'd have been 'drinks' in all the 3 sentences, they'd have been logically related.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't want to do any blunders by my apparently incorrect methods.

Thank you! :)
May the force be with you!

Apple's gorgeous ... seems correct (considering Apple as a noun)
