When the results are expected?
Hi folks!
Happy Holi. I know many of you going through an anxious time. A year back was I was facing the same. IMT wanted to send me to Dubai and IMI made me wait so long that I preferred to opt out. Finally, XIMB result came I was waitlisted again but in single digit. And I was very happy thinking last to last year 100 WL cleared so single digit will clear for sure. April passed. May passed.. half June passed and I was yet to get a confirmation letter. I was exactly at sine 180 degree at that point of life. On 18th june batch started and got to know that there was a good amount of buffer calls. Even wl 1 was yet to convert. I felt devastated. It was my 1st n last chance for MBA(the situation was actually very worse for me.cant disclose). On 21-22 June some 3-4 wl converted and next week I was also confirmed. On 31st june, I joined XIMB and the last wl which converted was 20(probably).
So moral of the story, Have patience and believe in the almighty god( sorry guys who think there is no such creature). Everything will be fine. You may have to wait but yeah it will taste better.
Now about life in XIMB.
It will quite hectic initially as the placecom and sec are quite bossy. Several batch meets will be there, lots of mandatory talks and conclave. These activities will keep you busy for 1st 3-4 months. But if you are intelligent enough and don't get into any interest committees you may have a relatively peaceful life. Mess food is okayish kind. Night mess is good, x-cafe is nice, Nescafe outlet a nice addition. Also lots of restaurants within 5-6km. Bhubaneswar is a beautiful city with lots of food outlets. So food will not be an issue. You will get a paid SIP for sure. The curriculum is kind of hectic but with time you will be able to manage it. Placements are quite good too. Overall, you may dislike Ximb initially but you will end up loving it. So, in short
Your result will be announced before end of this month(28th march last year)
Life: GOOD
Career perspect: Good (depends how high is your expectation)
For TO BE waitlisted people: Please dont keep high hopes. Last year buffer call were significant, So grab any opportunity you get, dont wait for it.

What exactly are buffer calls everyone is talking about here? I don't know can anyone explain?
XAT:77.4 10th and 12th: 95% & 96.4% respectively. GD: Summarized discussion and 2 other points. PI: Kinda short.. Around 10 mins. Asked mostly academic questions.. Couldn't answer one or two. Engineer and domicile. Interested for HRM. Do I have a chance?
