Don't hesitate to use the forum to ask insightful, one time and serious questions about the process and the PhD life / program as such. Please try and arrange institute wise calls on a single board or use an excel.

Congrats to all call getters of IIMB. Below are some of the questions I was asked when I got a call few years ago (could not convert then). This time strangely no call from B inspite of an improved profile. Anyways as I had mentioned in an earlier post very few finance questions were asked in a finance phd interview. Some of the questions that I can actually recall are given below. My interest area then was Fixed Income Securities. A bulk of the questions were from 10+2 math concepts (NCERT level) and MBA level business statistics. Interviews are taken in the first row of the classrooms. So they make you solve stuff on board or on paper.
Define Bond Yield.
How would you forward price a Treasury strip?
Differentiate X!. (Hint: not a continuous function)
What is lim x->0 sinx/x? Prove it (Hint: use Sandwich Theorem, See NCERT).
Write down the formula to calculate PV of growing annuity. Prove it.
Slope of Secant to a curve equals Slope of tangent to the curve. Which calculus theorem is it? (Ans. Mean Value Theorem, See NCERT)

The area specific test before the interview contained 2 questions... a passage on tax evasion and then some critical analysis questions. The second was a caselet on game theory involving pigs. Search for "Game Theory + Rational Pigs" on Google.
