25% percent profit at 13.75 means
cp = 13.75/1.25 = 11

so it is in the ratio 1:11??

let the total initial amount be x
amount put on bet = y
money gets back,when win the bet = 6y
so ... (x - y) + 6y = 8x
x + 5y = 8x
5y = 7x
so...7:5 ?

say cost price of milk == 100
now you want to sell at 100 and gain 20% profit
so whichh means cp = 83.33
so the water has to be mixed in the ratio of 1:5
@chandrakant.k Hey can u plz elaborate on 1:5 part....not getting it.

to become 100 you are adding 16.66 of water
so if you take 16.66 : 83.333 it is 1:5
