Vicky's salary is 3/4(75%)th more than Ashu's salary. So it will be easier to solve the problem if we take Ashus salary as a multiple of 4.
So we take their salary as:

New salary 40*125/100 = 50 70*140/100 = 98
Hence we find that Vicky's salary is more than Ashu's saalry by (98-50) 48

i juz came across this thread. this is a gr8 initiative.
for your first question, i dont really hav a clear cut methodology of solving, but one can do this question be observation:
put x=1, we get f(1).f(1)=2.f(1)
from here we get f(1) to be 0 or 2
put x=4 and let f(1/4) be a
65a=65+a
a=65/64
Now u can c a trend that f(4)=65= (4)^3+1
f(1)=2= 1^3+1
f(1/4)=65/64=(1/4)^3+1
So, then f(x)= x^3+1
therefore, f(6)=6^3+1=217 (Though this is just a jugaadoo solution and not a scientific method of approch)

term inside log shudnt be equal to zero and should be >0
(5x-x^2)/4 is not equal to 0=> x is not equal to 0 or 5
(5x-x^2)/4>0 => x lies between 0 and 5
Therefore, x shud lie between 0 and 5, excluding 0 and 5, so i think the first choice shud be (0,4], otherwise nthin else fits

here too x^3-x is not equal to 0 and >0 => x is not equal to -1,1,0 nd lies between (-1,0)U(1, infinity)
4-x^2 is not equal to 0 => x is not equal to 2,-2. Therefore the answer shud be (c)
for this i thin ans should be 37

I think u will find tht 50+40+20 is 110 and not 100.
Also the wasted time has no significance here.
My method was:
50*40% = 20
40*30% = 12
20*20% = 4
Total time invested = 36hrs
Total time allotted = 110hrs
ie 32.72%
little bit confusion i think some other method must be there for this is any one there help me out for this particula question on page21

The answer you arrived at is valid ,had the question been what is total no. of voters in barrely instead of total no. of votes polled.
