Usually all the people who are going to RBI or any other bank appear for IIBF exams usually after they start working.
If u have not yet appeared for IIBF exams (which i assume you will appear anyways in november 2018 if you are selected) i will suggest you to take 'DBF' exam scheduled in the month of may 2018 which is exactly the same as JAIIB exam. You can say that DBF is just another name of JAIIB for people who are not yet working.
After joining RBI or any FI in India you can convert this DBF into JAIIB certificate.
Even if it takes 2-3 months to get the final JAIIB certificate you will get arrears from the date of passing the exam.
Now since these exams are held on a half-yearly basis you'll earn (750+DA)*6 extra. Additionally you'll be eligible for CAIIB exams 6 months before your batch, when they'll write JAIIB you'll be writing CAIIB (1800+DA)*6,
total benefit compared to people who will write it in nov will be around 24-26k depending upon DA (assuming one clears both in 1st attempt).
moreover you'll be chilling when your batch writes CAIIB :D.
Currently DA is 53% approx which is revised every quarter according to the change in CPI.
The exam is of objective type, with no negetive marking & you have to score 45/100 in all three papers & your grand total should be minimum 150/300.
Don't worry JAIIB is a cakewalk anyone can clear it.

RBI had published an advertisement for the post of assistants in October 2017, the total vacancies for the same were 623. Of these 264 vacancies were for Mumbai office. The exam was scheduled to be conducted in 3 stages through IBPS agency, Prelims were conducted on 26/27th November whereas Mains(2nd stage) was conducted on 20th december. According to the results of the main examination around 666 candidates were selected for Language Proficiency Test which was conducted on 18th February 2018 in which the candidates had to attempt a marathi question answer based paper and this exam was only of qualifying nature and no marks were allotted to this, the exam was such that all most all marathi students could easily pass this exam despite the fact that it was a bit lengthy. Yesterday on 14th March, RBI released a shocking result of the language test test wherein around 250-300 Marathi knowing candidates were not qualified according to RBI and were not sent emails for further process. Please support guys..we want justice..

For those appeared for Mumbai Office . Last year bhi mains ke mark dikhane ke baad problem huva tha jinako cut off se jyada marks the unako LPT ke liye nahi bulaya tha ( you can check this in group or rbi assistant 2016-17 group) . So jo logo ka naam cutt off se jyada mark hone ke bavajud nahi aaya that unhone turant respective RO's ko call/mail kiye the aur unako usaka reply 2-3 dino me mil bhi gaya . RBI ne firse revised qualified logo ki list lagayi. Is time ye problem LPT ke baad huva aur sirf mumbai RO me huva 300-350 is huge number disqualified , so aap log agar isaka clarification jald se jaldi RBI Services board , RBI CO HRMD ya mumbai RO (bahut sare logo ne already mail/call kare , their reply if posted here will be appreciated )se le other wise agar isaka clarification after final result aya , aur usake bad pata chala ki kuch to gadbad hai to it will be problemetic to all who qualified as well not qualified as it will delay the process. so going through proper channel through mai/call in mass number(300-350 mails/call) will be appreciated instead of protest and should be as fast as possible.

Jo yaha bol rahe ke mumbai ki Lpt ka result mains par rakha hai so un logo ke kiye khas mere friend ne 180 attempts kiye hai with 40/40 in maths and he is maharastrian so usse kyu nahi aaya mail, aise kaafi example hai including me par kya hai na jyacha jalta tyalach kalta so kal protest aur PIL toh hogi sharp 10 baje CST station pe milo, RBI hai koi nahi chodega aur mehnat se mains di hai humne aur lpt bhi toh koi yaha bhik nahi maang raha 'JE HAKKACHA AAHE TYASATHI LADNARACH' and for those bunch of oversmart buggers you can kindly f*ck off! 😇
