Subject: Recruitment of Assistants 2017-2018. Respected Sir/Madam, I am one of the candidates empanelled for the post of Assistant in the Delhi Office of RBI. The recruitment exercise for the post has been stuck for some time now due to a court case in the Mumbai High court. Most humbly, I want to bring into your notice the difficulties and loss this temporary limbo is causing. To hedge against any unfavourable outcome of the court case, empanelled candidates have been forced to appear for other recruitments. If the empanelled candidates turn job seekers again in the already shrinking and competitive job market of India, it will cause a loss to the other unemployed youth. The Other recruitments referred to above also involve service agreements and bonds ranging from 1 lakh to 6 lakh rupees. Breaking the bond will cause huge financial loss to those candidates who will choose to move to RBI when offered appointment. When these candidates will shift to RBI they will also cause staff shortage in some branches of the organizations which they would be leaving to join RBI. The delay is causing a staff shortage in RBI regional offices, increasing the work load of RBI employees and hence negatively affecting the work. Also, to make sure that the recruitment of RBI assistants 2018-2019 happens in time, the present recruitment needs to be completed as soon as possible. The matter of the case is regional in character as it involves only the Mumbai office of RBI. The national level recruitment process of a reputed organization like the RBI should not be allowed to be stuck due to a regional issue. I have learnt from the honourable Mumbai High Court orders related to the case that the court has allowed RBI to continue with the process for other regions. I request you to take up the matter with the HRD RBI so that the empanelled candidates of offices other than Mumbai office can be appointed and they can start their career. Thanking you.
