My suggestion is that don't get carried away with the crowd as most of them will suggest RBI. RBI is an Apex organization in India and the perks and allowances given for an RBI employee are the best In govt jobs because it's not a profit making organization it has no targets to achieve so it spends the profit on it's employees and then give the remaining amount if any to the central government.
Everyone will be saying after 3 years you will be eligible for promotions but no one will tell how many assistants gets promoted to officer's and there will be always a difference between a directly recruited officer and an assistant promoted guy.
You will be always stuck in city ( completely depends on once perspective).
A probationary officer in any PSB is also a good job to have since you can have multiple career opportunities in long run. There will be a lot of public dealing which helps you in meeting different kind of people and promotions are very good if you are directly recruited as a PO. If you are highly talented you can even become the MD of a PSB (most of the MD's of PSB were PO) and when it comes to rbi assistant I don't know if any one reached upto deputy governor and the top position is mostly given to someone outside the organization.
You will be transferred to different places in PSB both Urban and rural you will learn about different cultures and few PSB's have offices overseas. You will have different work roles in PSB mostly similar as that of RBI. The RBI handle's the departments and makes rules and PSB follows. You will be facing different types of challenges in PSB compared to fewer challenges in RBI.
What is life without challenges âŠ.
May be the salary of a PO will be less compared to a RBI assistant if he clears the internal promotion and gets promoted but again in long run(10 years) it will be same.
An officer post should not be compared with an assistant showing the benefit after 3 years.
Better try for rbi grade B and nabard grade A and B.
Because most of the people are sure they won't be able to clear rbi grade B so prefer an easier way of getting into rbi through assistant.
The only reason they say is salary and work pressure ( depends from person to person).
If you are a hard working and want to explore life, comfortable in dealing with people and can handle pressure better go for IBPS Po if you are lazy, don't want any sought pressure in life and have a routine 10 to 6 job you can opt for rbi assistant.
In my opinion better get a job as a Po in PSB as the vacancies are more compared to RBI then think of RBI assistant if you find working as a PO is difficult.
RBI assistant got it's craze because of it's brand value and better working hours .
Sorry if I have posted anything wrong ..it's just an opinion hope it helps you :)
