Boadmas ke kafi questions hote hai.any strategy 4 those questions?

Try to fit the equation in a Algebraic Formula if it doesn't fit then you will have to solve completely, also try to avoid decimals wherever possible.

Guys does anybody have any idea about this exam happened previously?
I want to know two questions about it: Is DI included in the quant section and does banking awareness also included in the GA section as there is nothing mentioned in the adv regarding this as it is usually mentioned in various clerk ad PO exams adv like this-GA(with special reference to banking industry).
Does anyone have some authentic details about all this? thanks

what is the profile of an assistant in RBI

can you tell me what is the profile of an assistant in RBI

The mock tests book that i had ordered arrived today, there are DI questions in the practise sets, max. 2 DI sets are there in each paper, it is either in 1 DI set +1 DS (5 questions) form or 2 DI sets + no DS form.

It's a clerical position. you will be required to do all kind of clerical duties such as drafting mails, keeping records etc.

hey Swapnil I would also like to help you in the gk part. Lets share the topics, you post on some topics and I'll post on some other. Lets get started.

Bhai can you please check the GA section once in the book and let me know that whether GA section contains question related to banking like PO or its only and only GA.

Bhai how do you know this? I mean is there any of your friend working in RBI as an Assistant? Inspite of knowing that its a clerical position and about various clerical job responsibilities of a commercial bank, I am keen to know the job responsibilities which an RBI assistant will be taking over.

Waddatractor, swapnil- Would you like to start from various meetings, conferences and summits? I will try to help as well ! Thanks

I don't know what all clerical functions you'll be doing. But it will have nothing to do with economics or banking. A clerk can be asked to do various types of small tasks. A Bank PO position in a commercial bank would be more respected position. :nono:
I have been RBI Young scholar twice and know about the hierarchy. One of the assistants was responsible for maintaining attendance register of all the interns.

All the papers have only GA, there are hardly 2-3 banking related questions in each set.

One excellent source for GK Preparation is this website.
The second bank exam of the season is just a month from now i.e RBI Assistants Exam so lets start preparing for the same.

In this thread we shall discuss shortcuts, strategies and the best way to study for the next one month.

Exam Date: 29.04.2012

RBI Study Material:

Numerical Ability- Quantitative Aptitude by RS Aggarwal(Download) (Buy)
Reasoning-Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning by RS Aggarwal (Download) (BUY)
English- Vocab.- Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis (Download) (Buy)
Objective General English by R. S. Aggarwal, Vikas Aggarwal (Download) (Buy)
General Awareness- BSC Magzine, PD magzine (I will be posting GA questions on a daily basis)
Computer Knowledge- Basic Knowledge will do or you can buy Objective Computer Awareness by Arihant pub. (Buy)
Mock Papers: RBI Reserve Bank Of India Assistant Exam Practice Work Book 20 Sets (Buy)
The paper pattern is similar to IBPS Clerk Exam so you can solve papers of the same if you don't want to buy any special book just for RBI Assistants Exam.
But i will recommend that you solve atleast 5 mock papers before you give the exam.

Each section carries 40 marks. The time duration and the Negative marking criteria is not mentioned in the Notification but it is expected to be 2 hours Time and the 1/4th or 0.25 Marking for each wrong answers.

Please post the questions you are having problems solving.

A request to seniors- please be generous and help us out.

Hi Swapnil,
Firstly, Thanks a lot for starting such a helpful link.A mere month is left before the exam and there are few doubts that I need to clear:
firstly, The level of exam...Solving from PO exams will be enough na?Because Grade B has two stages of selection while this exam is has only one stage. So we can expect a moderate to tough paper, i.e Harder than IBPS clerk. My basic concern is Gk. 6months GK should be enough isnt? Also seeing the pattern of grade B exam I found even Some conceptual questions on Economics as a whole is coming. Also regarding computer, Can you all tell me what are the fundamental chapters of Computer?I will try on my part to post the links and questions of Gk I find useful. U guys do the same.
2. Regarding cut off, What kind of a marks will ensure a call in interview? This is a tough question, I know, But can anyone give me a vague idea? 80 % will be enough? I am sitting from kolkata, there is 75 vaccancies here, But I guess the criteria stated that "Anyone passing out from university within the zone can apply" which means anyone who passed out from any university from west bengal can apply , regardless of where he is currently situated, right?
I got 180 in last IBPS clerical with a 2months preparation. It was my first competitive exam.
To all of you preparing for RBI, Lets give our best try and crack this exam! United we thrive! So lets help each other out!:)

@swapnil : are there any short cut ways for DI section? Its really time killing. Also, what kind of puzzles one might expect? MAT level reasoning is enough na?

Abhay,
Seeing the SBI clerical pattern 2 questions, i.e around 8-10 DI comes every year. So RBI will defintly ask some I suppose.

DI is very easy, it shouldn't take you more then 3-5 min. to solve all 10 questions(including the time taken to mark the answers in OMR)
Refer to these two videos Video-1 and Video-2 they will give you an idea on how to solve 2-pie chart type of DI, there are similar ways for solving different types of DI but unfortunately i don't have the links for the videos :banghead: , but one advice to you will be to use approximation wherever necessary don't use actual values use some approx. value to make calculations easier eg. instead of 45998 use 46K and so on.

As for the puzzles, all i could find are 2-level puzzles in the mock papers but i would recommend you practice till 3-levels to be on the safer side.

Yes, MAT level reasoning will be enough.
