After giving exams and clearing them ( LIC/SBI PO/RBI Phase 1 ) in first attempt I realise that a person needs to know his strengths.When i prepared for 2 months for SBI po and practicing previous year paper i realised that i was weak in Quant and reasoning and strong in English and GK.Reasoning for these exams are a joke and follow a set pattern ( trust me this cannot be called reasoning )..Input Output/Inequality/Blood Relations/Coding Decoding/Syllogisms can even be learned in 2 days.I just attempt these questions in reasoning in any exam any never even see questions like puzzle`s etc.60% marks are gauranteed in reasoning.For Quant Just doing DI and simplification/percentage would give you 60% marks,I leave everything else like series/trains etc.For English - It cant be taught just attempt 4-5 papers and see how god you are.For GK read PD/BSC publication - books on banking terms,and newspaper. I have seen very capable people failing in these exams because they dont know what not to attempt.Just attempt what you know with 100% accuracy and go to sleep..You would clear any exam of such level.Anyway you dont need to top just pass and be in top 2100 which i feel is very easy.Also my advice to any new aspirant who wants to prepare i does not matter how many seats are there ex even 50 seats are there in RBI Phase 2..You would clear if you know your strengths and follow them..REMEMBER Only 1 seat is enough...Also truth is even if you clear a UPSC rank 1 or a RBI it would just make you happy for a day or two till the feeling sinks in and life becomes normal i,e there is no enjoyment.Journey and preparing for these exams is fun and real enjoyment...Enjoy the journey and RESULTS WOULD FOLLOW.

Guys i took advice from one of my seniors who took RBI exam last year..His advice was just not do ratta-fication.RBI needs perspective in your answers.

Guys, I am preparing for UPSC Mains with Public Administration Optional. I just went through the RBI mains syllabus and through the posts on this forum.
Surprisingly, Management syllabus is very much similar to Pub Ad syllabus. And that Robbins' book, I already refer it for UPSC.
This came to me as morale booster. But, yet, as I could not crack UPSC mains last yr, I am anxious about mains. Plus full time job.
Please confirm if you too find Pub ad syllabus same as RBI plus if there is no special separate need to prepare for RBI mains.
hi,congrats to all those who cleared.........i had written the exam on 24th noon, and i found GK tough........hence,despite doing the other 3 papers quite well, i was unable to clear phase 1.......so i request the people who have cleared to please share their strtegies and books read for GK.
