Seems there is still some confusion regarding marks and interview roll no. Let me reiterate and shed some light on the same. 1. People are comparing from last year roll nos. This is futile, as last year the process was different. You must have seen interview roll nos in higher range of 500s and 600s last year. But this year it is no so. Because this year roll no have been given on basis of your mains centre. 2. For eg. Let's take the case of a small centre Kanpur. Suppose 8 people qualified for interview from kanpur. Then they have been given roll nos from 001 to 008 in order of ascending marks. That is one with 008 has more marks than the one with 001. This include qualified people from all categories. The category is later denoted by 3rd and 4th digit. Same is the case with other centres. Hence this year roll nos have lesser range. 3.People with smaller roll no need not worry as all India analysis would be different. Moreover, the range of marks is small this year compared to last year. So there might be only few marks difference between roll no 001 and 020. 4. English has played both a deal maker and deal breaker this year. It is pertinent to note that till last year English was evaluated solely on basis of a software program that followed deduction method( deduction from 100 on basis of your mistakes). But people loopholed through this and hence from this year RBI has changed the process. Now, in addition to program method the papers have also been manually checked to evaluate content, language flow, sentence construction etc. Hope this clears the doubt! All the best.
