RBI grade b wage settlement has recently taken place. the basic salary has been revised to Rs.35,150 (from 21,000).. thats almost a 67% increase.. ofcourse therez the DA factor.. im jus trying to simplify here.. by the same proportion, Grade A new basic will be around Rs.28,500 (from the current 17,100).. the new annual increment is of Rs.1750.. ps- in my opinion a starting salary in any job of upwards of Rs.40,000 (for a fresher that too) is excellent.. and most of the govt jobs (bank po, ssc intrvw (even non-intrvw is coming close to it now), fin instis, insurance AO) are giving these kindsa salaries.. Majority of the pvt sector jobs dont come close to offering this.. so it is true that govt employment is getting more nd more lucrative.. it can indeed be taken as a fact now that its d best time to be employed in govt organizations/jobs..
What were the cut offs for Phase II in 2015. (including sectional and over all cut off)
Thank You. 😃
Guys can anybody send bunch of all RBI grade B question papers? Atleast for ten years?
Hi Guys, Can anyone tell which current affairs magazine is good for covering economy related current affairs question? Kiran prakaahann banking or pratiyogita darpan or chronicle
Some unsolicited advice (bin maanga gyaan) to all aspirants...
I am among the selected ones for RBI grade B...I have been seeing and getting a lot of queries regrading strategy for RBI exam prep...And some successful candidates have given some awesome preparation tips...yet, the queries keep coming up...
The reason is that as aspirants, we are never satisfied with what we are studying, and keep looking for "better alternatives"... We get impressed by strategy of someone else, and change our course ... and then midway, we find someone else's tip tempting, and start following this new path ... We end up collecting a lot of material and books, but do not read any of them properly ... and this why we fail! ...
The best strategy for RBI or UPSC or any other exam is "to have your own strategy" ... The guidance and tips provided by successful candidates are useful for sure, but you have to chart your own path ... Further, you have to stick to your path with all your belief ... If the material/books/web-links you have planned to refer to cover all topics in the syllabus, then do not digress from them even if you find some better "brahmaastra" from some topper/teacher... Believe in yourself and your capabilities ...
Once you have decided on your course, stop referring to pagalguy or other forums for any 'better strategy' ... Remember that no strategy will be useful unless you execute it in its entirety ... Frankly speaking, I kept the syllabus in front of me, decided the books and material, read them thoroughly, and cleared the exam in just 15 -20 days of preparation... my success lay not in what all stuff i referred, but in sticking to what all stuff i decided to refer...
You should not be intimidated by what all the extra, 'award-winning stuff' others are reading ... just stick to your guns, and believe me you'll put on a better show than all others ... For eg, I do not read The Hindu, Yojana, Kurukshetra, EPW etc... I only read Times of India and gktoday material, and read them religiously (backed up by some googling for anything extra)...and I have never found myself lagging behind those who read the above shiny stuff...
Success lies not in reading many different books once, but in reading one good book many times...So insist and persist and you'll definitely succeed ...
In this context, I would like to quote the lines of the great poet Dr. Harivanshrai Bachchan ...
"Madiralay jaane ko ghar se.. chalta hai peene wala..
Kis path se jaaun, asamanjas mein hai wo bhola bhala..
Alag alag path batlaate sab, main ek yeh batlaata hu..
Raah pakad tu ek chala chal, paa jayega Madhushala.."
So friends, simply hold on to any one path, and you'll definitely reach your Madhushala (ie RBI, UPSC, SBI/IBPS PO, or any other goal)..
Hope this "bin-maanga bhaashan" helps you in getting to your goals... Thankyou for reading it patiently....

Arvind Subramanian, the government's chief economic adviser, should be pleased. Almost a year ago, he had made the point that the real rate of interest faced by Indian producers, based on the Wholesale Price Index (WPI), was much higher than that faced by consumers, based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI). At that time, the divergence between wholesale and retail price inflations was very high.
real rate of interest on what ? & how

English Descriptive Strategy
It was my first and last attempt.I came to know about this exam last year.I was not able to make it to the final list because of less marks in interview. After seeing my mark-sheet I realized that if I started preparing a little earlier for ESI and FM the story might have been different.People have shared their respective strategy for ESI and FM but no one has shared the strategy for English Descriptive online.
I am sharing below the 4 point strategy I adopted for English descriptive online.
1) Stick to the word limit. Never exceed by more than 10 words.
2) Avoid grammatical mistakes by re-checking.
3) Confine yourself to short and simple sentences.
4) Never use any word whose meaning is not 100% clear.
These are the 4 basic points which we ignore due to time constraint, exam pressure and lack of practice.I religiously stick to these points.
Now coming to the content part of the essay. To improve the content you must have fodder points. You will have those fodder points if you refer different sources.Best source are monthly magazines and editorials of newspaper.
It will help you in two ways. Firstly, you will get fodder points which you can transplant in your essays. Secondly, you will come across good vocabulary and its usage in right manner.
Now all this will not happen in a single day it will take time.Follow the strategy and start writing essays and get it reviewed from your friends in exchange thus creating a win-win situation for yourself.
Now as far as Precis-writing is concerned it is like writing a summary of a paragraph given to you where word limit is your target. Best way to command perfection in Precis writing is reading some editorial and then confining the summary of the same within word limit. Soon you will be able to write a good precis. If you are asked to write the heading of precis in an exam judiciously follow and write a brief heading, the way editorials have.
Target Marks
70% and above
Actual marks
SBI PO 2015 - 34/50
RBI Grade B 2015- 77/100
Best of luck to all those who are preparing for upcoming Exam where English descriptive paper is online.
P.S. If you have a better strategy which is rewarding you in terms of marks, stick to it.
