The Indian Railways has planned to acquire the End of Train Telemetry (EoTT) equipments to run nearly 1,000 trains without guards in the current fiscal. The EoTT system is designed in such a way that it will perform the guard’s job. EoTT system comprises two units, namely, ‘cab display unit’ (CDU) which is fitted on the locomotive and ‘sense and brake unit’ (SBU) which is fitted on the last coach of the train. The units will be fitted with radio transmitter which can communicate with each other. The transmitter will send signals at regular intervals to the last coach to ensure that the train is running intact. The Indian Railways will initially acquire 1,000 EoTT equipments for its container operations and later on more units will be procured to be fitted on all trains. Accordingly, all goods trains on the proposed dedicated freight corridors will run with EoTT system. Each set of EoTT device will cost approximately Rs 10 lakh.

#copied Respected sir, Most respectfully I beg to state that 1. On 26-12-2015 Govt. of India, Ministry of Railways, Railway Recruitment Boards published CEN 03/2015 for NTPC (Graduates) and invited online application from eligible Indian National For those post. Total no. of vacancy as declared therein was 18252 in all RRBs. 2. Being satisfied in all respect I applied for the same in RRB KOLKATA along with a requisite online exam fees. 3. RRB KOLKATA after scrutinizing my application allowed me to appear on the first online test held on 28-04-2016. A huge no of job aspirant took part in that exam which conducted during the month of April and May of 2016 in all RRBs. 4. On 7th dec, 2016 RRB Kolkata published the result of 1st online test and set the 2nd stage of online examination on 17, 18, 19 January, 2017. 5. I also appeared on the 2nd stage of online examination on 19th January, 2017. 6. On 11th Feb, 2017Hon’ble Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu twitted from his twitter account that “Indian Railway conducts world’s largest online test to fill more than 18000 vacancies”. This tweet emboldened high belief that the Railways will appoint 18252 candidate through this examination. 7. On 04-05-2017 RRB chairperson invite fresh order of preference for various NTPC (Graduate) posts from the candidates appeared in 2nd stage examination in CEN 03/2015, as there was a change of Grade Pay for the Post of Assistant Station Master and Traffic Assistant according to the recommendation of 7th CPC. RRB Chairperson also advised to exercise option of filling of fresh preferences within the period from 08-05-2017(00:00 hrs) to 14-05-2017(23:59hrs) through the link provided by the individual RRBs. 8. RRB modified the vacancy and published it on their website on 08-05-2017(00:00hrs) wherein it was noted that total vacancies were reduced and brought down to 14023 from 18252. There was no separate circular issued by the RRBs explaining the reason for such Drastic and Abrupt reduction (in the name of Modification) of vacancies. 9. It is not understandable that when Hon’ble Railway Minister took pride of conducting “world’s largest online test to fill more than 18000 vacancies” on the other hand RRBs in a most shamelessly modified and reduced the vacancy to 14023 and thereby reduced the vacancy by 23.17%. 10. Surprisingly Hon’ble Railway Minister this time made no fresh Tweet on 23.17% reduction of vacancies made by the RRBs in contravention of his previous claim of 18000+ vacancies. 11. It is not understandable that who has a primacy to decide the no of vacancy - Railway Minister or the RRB? 12. The new modified vacancy list puzzled the aspirants and making them unable to fix their mind in such changed circumstances. 13. RRBs invited application by showing 18252 vacancies and now after 1.5years and holding 2 sets of examination RRB drastically reduced the vacancies. This is nothing but a Surgical Strike on the aspirants who appeared on the 2nd stage of examination. Is this an example of GOOD GOVERNANCE? 14. Hon’ble PM and Railway minister should look into this matter so that disparity may not exist between the Railway Minister’s tweet dated 11the feb,2017 and the Midnight Modification by the RRBs. I am seeing here that most of you are very depressed by decrease in vacancies , but there is a reason for that ...
My father works in railway in personnel department and he told me thing that vacancies are not reduced but they are diverted towards promotion and departmental quota because railways is getting too much qualified candidates in group d cadre , and as promotional avenues are not good in group d they want them to have good growth also by taking exams and promoting them ...
Another thing he told me that by taking candidates from group d ensures less time to train them as they have better understanding of how the railways work at ground level...
