Q- For each crankshaft revolution the cam shaft revolves .
Ans -The answer provided is one-half turn...
but the question framed is actually wrong and ambiguous as they must have mention which type of engine it is 2 or 4 stroke because in 2-stroke engine cycle, the crankshaft makes one revolution.The valves open and close once. So the cams must make just one revolution. And if the cams make one revolution, so must the camshaft. So for 2 stroke diesel engine answer cannot be half.
In each 4-stroke cycle, the crankshaft rotates completely twice. So the camshaft must rotate at half the speed of the crankshaft. So camshaft rotates once.
Should i raise the question in objection??
Also they could have provide in option that it depends on engine cycle and type of engine as option so that question would have been correct then.
