hi allI had my document verification process at bokaro today in the morning.
1. In form 3a & 3b attestation of gazetted officer is required and if not done then don't panic. (They will give u gud suggestions or somebody would bring stamp of some gazetted officer as in my case....)
2. For all of those who want extension ,just give them an application and that's it ..You would have to stay here for 2 days( as written in the offer letter 1 day for document verification and other for medical). so book return ticket accordingly.
@all: Hi!,I had reporting on 25th Feb at BOKARO STEEL PLANT .Since many friends are curious to know about the process I would like to give a brief detail.On the day of reporting what they have given timing 'by __PM' in offer letter ,you need to report at reception before that given time(1-2 hours tolerance is acceptable 😛 ). There is a Van which will take you from bokaro steel city station to the plant directly free of cost.Here you have flexibility to get hostel first or to report first provided you have enough time for reporting.You will get hostel&Food; for your guest also who is coming with you at minimal charges.For reporting it takes almost an hour to complete whole process ,nothing to worry about if you have all documents ready . That's all you are done for the reporting day :)
Next day 8AM is the time for medical.There will be one bus near to your Hostel at 8AM you need to get into that having nothing(no docs or luggage bag) with you.They will take you to the Hospital and you will have all tests there itself in different parts of that building.Tests are X-ray,Blood,Ears,Eyes,BP,Height and weight in order.Nothing to worry about, all are normal tests except blood because it hurts 😛 . In the middle you will get breakfast which will be provided by SAIL ,it will be in the BUS itself.That's all you are done with medical.They will bring you back to the hostel and you guys can attack on delicious lunch provided in mess 😛

@impetuous hi tnx for ur input but when i cald up the no given in document mailed to us from bokaro plant they said only the officials of the plant where i have been posted could decide on extension and this could be done only after induction which is of 10days i think from 8th-18th march...
so am confused but i also need extension badly

@RasMan as per your post the medical tests gets over by lunch time right? and did you inform Bokaro people about your itinerary before arriving, so that they cd arrange for the VAN and all...and whats the specific procedure for applying for extension pls inquire and let us all know about it.thanks and all the best..
@RasMan Thanks for sharing the info. I hope u would be completing your official joining formalities on 28th after u get the medical reports on 27th. Please after u r done with ur joining formalities as SAIL Employee, kindly share throw some light on the period of induction . Its starting from 8th but when is it officially ending? Can u just enquire abt the date of ending, since there is a confusion between 18th and 19th march. Bcos until and unless they officially release us from the hostel, we can't get reserved the tickets for going back home and taking our luggage and finally reporting at our place of posting. It would also be helpful if u could share some info abt the time period (in days) they give after induction is over to report at the final place of joining....

@ rasman pls inquire specifically if smone is asked to report on 3rd and has medical on 4th and seeks extension .can he leave on 4th or has to wait on 5th march as well. and what abt those who have not yet rcvd the call letters...
@reetii for getting extension u'll have to give an application to them on your document verification date and also a mail to Mr. pawan (his email id is on the offer letter).
@texas921 yrr come for the medical process and talk to them personally. They are happy to help you............U would easily get extension that's sure...:-)

@impetuous as suggested by you and others i had alrdy mailed on the given id but have rcvd no response.Its been more than a week that i mailed Mr. Pawan Kumar regarding extension...Guys, pls help us, because we are alrdy working and cant take too many offs specially during notice period. if you cd inquire in advance , we cd plan our travel and leave accordingly...
@All:After medical you can leave from here that day itself because all will be selected there is no doubt about it .If you get any problem they will tell you in hospital itself.Official notice will come in the evening or may be next day morning.It's your choice to wait or leave.
For the guys who have posting other than Bokaro they have 10 days induction training.So,Induction should end on 18th March.one more thing ,After whole reporting process We have been asked to report on 6th March.Our salary days will be counted from 6th March.There are some more forms to be filled for joining which you will get while reporting.Those forms we have to submit on 6th March.
I hope ,I have cleared some doubts but not all.Sorry, I have no info about extension.
@RasMan after completing induction training when we have to go to our posting plant i mean i have to report at bokaro but my posting is at rourkela steel plant so after induction training when i have to go to rourkela steel plant .thank u
