Regarding prep - I'm jobless, so have plenty of time. My only fear is GD (as I'm very weak in communicating).

Hi,
From what I have heard the GD & PI are not so important as your written marks are considered pivotal in selection.So dont worry abot the GD & PI.Besides if you can crack SAIL the you can crack any PSU (that is for sure).
One more thing do you know that SAIL is actually offering Rs 5000 less of basic pay during your joining as compared to other maharatna psus(ONGC, IOC, NTPC).This will land you at a initial loss of around Rs 10000 per month.Go inquire about it if you think am wrong.I know as my friends are working for SAIL and they are very displeased due to this.
@materialsguy u can focus on purchasing of ores,coal etc,n their quality,n mainteneance f store,how to keep them well
@slendereyes u r right i m too workin in SAIL SINCE three years,many have left after joining when they see the blast furnance,coak oven STEEL MELTING SOAP, RAIL MILLS,etc HEAT DUST SOUND these R enough to make uR NIGHT Sleepless,
