bt salary varies wth yrs nd... obc(nc) is eligible 4 reservation while obc creamy layer is not...so dats where LATEST CASTE ND INCOME CERTIFICATE cms into play...
i hv had mny psu xperiencs where prblms occrd due to outdated caste certis...
my advice-get latest certis

in hpcl interview i didnt mention abt my mtech nd told dem m working for an ngo voluntarily.. my sail interview is scheduled on e30 nov hyderabad... i also hv last yr experience of sail interviewplzz help me...

@raunaq90 take something to eat.. coz sail people arrange interview in t5 star hotels, nd v gotta hv nythng on our own expenses.. no interview gd goes well wd an empty stomach.. believe me.. i hd to face it last yr..

Just finished gd and pi. I was the first to go for the PI and the interview didn't last for more than ten minutes. They asked questions based on the biodata and 2-3 technical questions about my project and training. Very friendly panel. GD panel had one person from IBPS and three officers from SAIL. They too are a very friendly panel. Focus should be on reaching a consensus. Branch- Metallurgy, Centre- Kolkata.

My verdict:

Interview process was more of Q&A; session type. Be clear about whatever you have written in the bio-data form. (prepare well for this Question - 'Why do you want to join SAIL?')
GD & cases test your real character and group skills.
One thing for sure: Score big in written test and you are through.
And no need to worry about GD topics - they are the easiest.
Finally - don't expect Tech. questions in the interview.

I've my interview(electrical) on 27th in Mumbai. I'm 2012 year passout and currently working in TCS. Will working in IT company affect my chance to get into SAIL? Should I mention my TCS job in the biodata or not? I don't want to but that would be lying. Please suggest.

s@drive333 if u mention abt tcs den b ready to face so many ques abt leaving tcs nd joininh sail. yk? dey ll ques on integrity of an employee to his org.. if u cn convince dem well den only mention abt it.. else u can nt.. coz u r just a fresher.. a very big point for u...
