Let me post some cold facts - THESE facts were presented in Indra sawhney case in supreme court. They are also easily available on google. The reason reservation is still going on is because of this facts - Gen population in India - 30.84 % OBC population in India - 40.94 % SC population in India - 19.59 % ST population in India - 8.63 % Total reserved population = 40.94+19.59+8.63 = 69.16% So 50 % of seats is available to gen category ... whose population is only 30.84% Rest 50% seats are reserved for remaining sc/st/obc population = 69.16% of the population. 40.94+19.59+8.63

Yes ... RAS bowled a googly. Gen cutoff - 74-78 OBC cut off - 94... I think we are not far from the days of ideal reservation system - - wealth/income based reservation.
