Till about four years ago,people never left a single opportunity to mock/criticize politicians.Saare politicians corrupt hai was the common refrain.MMS was the butt of all jokes.The situation today is so drastically different.Worshippers of individual politicians have cropped up who will go to any length to defend their deities.I have been to that bridge countless number of times.The most recent being 3 weeks back.Everytime I thought,this is a disaster waiting to happen.Infact,the situation is similar at all the stations everytime two trains enter a common platform.That such mishaps don't happen on daily basis is a testimony to the discipline that Mumbaikars exhibit during their commute & ofcourse,pure luck.People have tagged railway ministry via twitter several times about this,there is a facebook page demanding a new FOB at parel station.But somehow these grievances have been falling on deaf ears.The bullet train project has several genuine +ve effects.But it is not something that we need at this moment.But then the Emperor wants his name in history books & only bullet trains can give you that not ordinary FOBs so what if the junta desperately needs them.Same holds true for the stupid statue being constructed in the middle of the sea or the one in Guj.#MisplacedPriorities.
