My SBI PO interview experience:
Place: Bangalore LHO, Date: 25.09.18 Reporting Time: 10.30am
Reached LHO at 9.30am and one guy took us (10members in our batch) to 3rd floor and document verification completed smoothly. Paste your photo’s at required place before you enter LHO …one of batchmate was scolded by verification officer for doing everything while verifying certificates… Never leave any columns . Put NA whatever u feel applicable… 8.30 batch candidates completed their GD while our( 10.30 batch) document verification underway… After document verification , they took us to GD hall…
Group Discussion:
Two persons one is Retired DGM and another is AGM … They are very supportive, cordial and they first congratulated us for clearing Main exam and instructed us that this GD will not going to test ur intelligence .They gave us a book and pen to everyone and panel told us no need to worry if u r FOR or AGAINST the topic.
Panel instructed us that GD will be for 20 minutes , so try to come to a conclusion otherwise no issues …panel told us dont debate or argue … Give equal chances to all…here participation is important and they told us dont look at us while GD is underway…
GD topic: is e- commerce is helpful or harmful to retailer…?
We were given 5 minutes to note down our points and after 5 minutes …
GD started …all 10 candidates got 3-4 chances and we come to conclusion . So, panel told us that they got best from all us and he congratulated us that our participation as team.

panel gave us 15 minutes time to prioritize individually after that they gave 20 minutes for group to prioritize…
for 1st priority…out of 10 members 5 people supported Credit control and another 5 supported increase in interest rates…but finally we gave credit Control as no.1 priority ( for this it took maximum time) and finally we didn’t come to consensus … So we prioritized only first 5 places within 20 minutes…
GE and GD Over by 1.00pm and they gave lunch coupon to all us and it was a good lunch and they instructed us to report 2.00pm sharp for interview.
My serial No.7 After waiting for 150 minutes my turn came at 4.45pm

M1: So velu, you did ECE in Feb-2017, what you have been doing since Feb-2017…?
Me: Sir, after completion of engineering, I started preparing for govt jobs like banking exam.
M1: why you started preparing for govt job. Any govt. Since independence in India is not able to create govt jobs for all…didn’t you try for your ECE related jobs in Pvt. Sector…?
Me: Sir, I am a average student in ECE and our college is Tier 3 college in rural area . So there is less for chance for campus placement. I didn’t placed in college campus interview . So, I tried in walk in interview but I ended up getting a job in BPO sector( even though I’m working in a PSU, I didn’t mentioned that in Bio-data, becz my org. Is reluctant to give NOC) and I told him BPO job is in night shift and it deteriorated my health , so my father advised me to quit BPO job and start preparing for govt job.
M1: ( I think he is not satisfied with my answer ) and asked me in a very rude manner . He asked me" After joining in sbi as po . I will post you somewhere in Northeast or I would tell you work in night shift " would to quit SBI … if ur health deteriorated like ur previous job…?
Me: I remained silent for few seconds. I told him…Sir, working in SBI as officer is responsible job, so I have to compromise with my place of posting or time.
M1: again …he is not satisfied…he showed his displeasure outrightly.
Me: (I thought he could have some issues , so he is not cordial)
M1: he told M2 to proceed
M2: velu, u have mentioned your father and mother occupation as ‘POWERLOOM WEAVING’ what is power loom weaving…?
Me: Sir, in early 1960’s and 1970’s Handloom was used to produce dhotis,sarees without electricity, but in early 1990’s people started purchasing POWERLOOM machines in order to increase productivity.
M2: Do you know how POWERLOOM works and what are the raw materials used for producing clothes and your gets the ORDER to produce dhotis throughout the year and from which part of the country u get orders.?
Me: Yes Sir, I know how POWERLOOM works. We have machinery to produce dhotis , so raw materials like yarn, beam yarn would be provided by merchants and we will process it and produce dhotis…and throughout the year we will gets the order from SALEM,TIRUPUR,ERODE through merchants.
M1: OK. Name of the sarees produced in your area…?
Me: Sir, we weave only dhotis sir, so I dont about sarees.
M1: he mentioned one saree name , but I couldn’t recollect now and he told F1 to proceed.
F1(she is very cordial, smily , aged above 50): velu, name some places near to ur area famous for sarees, weaving …?
Me: Mam Guntur,Sri kalahasthi, Chirala , madanapalle
F1: Name one movie which is famous for weaving ?
Me: Mam, Kanchipuram…Prakash raj acted in that movie.
F1:Do you know where is from ?
Me: yes mam, he is fr Karnataka, but sorry mam which district hev hails from.
F1: with smile , No No No need to tell sorry it OK. and tell some bank products

F1: she smiled while I’m mentioning ICICI and asked any other products
Me: suddenly I couldn’t recollect product names . So I told her sorry mam.
F1: OK no problem , she asked M3 to proceed
M3: he asked something about housing loan ( I couldn’t hear clearly ,becz he is very old and his voice damn very low). I told him I’m not able to hear what you are asking. Then he asked his question with more pitch . Again he asked have you been to bank…? Have you seen a large queue… how to reduce that queue so as to cut the cost ?
Me: still I’m not getting what his question is and I told him increasing ATM, internet and mobile banking and encouraging small banks like kiosk where basic facilities are provided
M3: he asked to proceed M4 without any reply
M4: do you know some tele - communication industry is facing losses what is the reason Me: sir, due to entry of Relience Jio and aggressive pricing forced other telegram communication industry like Airtel,idea, vodafone facing loses.
M4: ok .

Is it ok to say that i worked in a IT company for one year(coz i really worked after campus placement) but i dont have experience certificate of working there...as i left it to prepare for govt exams
Did anyone say such similar thing?
Is it super necessary that whatever u say in interview we need to have a proof of that (im not talking abt basic and mandatory certificates...except tht)...?

Experienced people kindly help me out. I'm working in a PSB which doesn't issue NOC in probation period (and it is clearly stated in my appointment letter too). I've given an intimation letter to my employer that I'm going to appear for the sbi po interview. Now, all I have with me is the appointment letter clause and the intimation letter copy with me (but not NOC). And, I'll not be able to produce NOC at all since they're not going to issue it for 2 years, and I've just completed 1 year here. Now, should I still go to the for ge-pi as an experienced or hide that I'm employed and go as a fresher? And, if I hide it and go as a fresher then what if they find out later while verification that I was previously employed in a psb? (since i have an nps account and they might be able to track everything from there). I've my ge-pi on 9th. Will they accept without NOC in my case? Experienced people kindly help with your suggestions before it's too late for me. Thanks in advance
