SCIT GE/PI List out

What should i do knw....?

Hey Seniors,

Need a help from your side..
I am non it grad (Electronics) and have non i.t. (in Consulting - HR) experience of 14 months.
I have scored 94.75 marks in SNAP, as u have suggested earlier i have tried studying basic concepts of i.t. (software develp life cycle, testing: just info n some stuff reg diff types of testing) and have also studied Microprocessor 8085 n 8086 programming architecture as my final year project was based on that, and some concepts of c++, that i have learnt long way back. Is there anything that i have missed on in regard to basic fundas in i.t.. Please suggest.

I know it may sound stupid and too early too ask for but still i want to know that is there preference given to i.t. people at the time of placements.

Woww u seem to be doing lot of homework before landing here for GE/PI. Well considering ur non IT background u have read well enuff to convince that u fit for IT. During the basic intro, try to drag them towards ur final year project which u mentioned was based on microprocessor 8085 & 8086 if u r comfortable with it. Also try to go thru the latest technologies & most important Cloud Computing...Happy Reading..

Yes preference is given but not at the cost of other parameters...

Plz elaborate on this attestation of all xerox copies. My question may be silly, but still 'By gazetted officer' means a person having eligibility to use green ink? If so, who(Govt. officials) all come under it? Plz respond.

I hav my GD/PI on 12th feb for SCIT. and this s my profile :

10th : 76% ICSE
12th : 71 % U.P. BOARD
B.TECH(APLLIED ELECTRONICS AND INSTRUMENTATION) : 62.32%
Work ex: ONLY 7 MONTHS IN A TELECOM MNC

The SC category cutoff has gone very below the expectations as 11.0 marks in SNAP.

My SNAP Score is 37.75 marks only in SNAP
1)What are my Chances of getting admission in SCIT should i attend GE/pi or not?
2)What Is weightage givento snap score and acads...
3)If i attend What and How should i prepare for ge/pi?

There's no weightage as such given to each aspect. The cumulative score is considered in the end. Do ur best and give everything equal importance.

Hi Ghanu
Your question is difficult to answer.. And that is because ultimately the decision of appearing for the GE/PI process lies solely with you..
Right now, I guess, you should be happy that you managed to get a call and should prepare for the forthcoming process in a full-fledged manner.. Don't have scepticisms in your mind.. Just give it your best shot..
Que sera sera! You anyway don't have anything to lose if you turn up for the process..

The weightage (%age wise) cannot be revealed.. But rest assured, SCIT is going to judge all the candidates on their past academic records, SNAP score and the Work Experience front.

As far as preparations are concerned, brush up your knowledge about the current events and read newspapers regularly..
You should know in and out of the project which you're working for, and of course, about your organization and the other depts too.. Also, be prepared with the basics of some of the subjects like OOPS, Networking, Software Engg taught at college..

will we be required to fill any form at the time of GE/PI that serves as a CV in that case i think having a CV would come in handy ?
