This question is regarding external subjects and special subjects that we choose at SIBM-Pune. Suppose, I choose operations as my specialization, then would i get a chance to select external subjects like 'Financial Accounting and Planning', "Business Law' etc.?
Actually, i prepare to plan 'why mba' question' on the fact that i would be allowed to choose any external subject.
P.S. I had mailed this query to my buddy, but he hasn't replied so far.

External subjects can be chosen only in the 4th sem... before that the syllabus is fixed.. so do not base your answer on the same...

The above mentioned subjects are a part of your course no matter which discipline you choose here...
In the 4th sem you get an option to choose a whole range to different subjects not pertaining to what you have mentioned..

Yes there is a bus service from the city to campus...
You can avail the same
they leave at 9:00 am, 2:00 pm, 5:00pm and 9:00 pm

1. I am planning to take SIBM bus from Passport office pick up time 7:15 am, and my reporting time is 8:30 am.....will I be able to reach there in time. GDPI start time 9:15 am
2. What is best suggested, shall I take a cab directly to campus from Magarpatta.

If you avail any of the buses that SIBM Pune is providing then you need not worry about being late....
All the buses will reach campus well within time....

I do not want to ride all the way to lavale as its gonna be hectic, so i would like to take the pick up fascility from s b road, which again is some distance from my house. So if there is parking fascility in s b road symbi society then i can come in the bus.

Symbiosis Society will not let you park the bike as you are not a student YET...
though you can park your bike in the passport office which is adjoining to the society..

Seniors plz create a thread for GEPI experiences. I have my GEPI tmrw... eagerly waiting for the experiences.
Interview Date: 4th Feb
Slot: Morning (first day first show 
)
Process:
1. Register, Verify documents, Submit Current Information form (Each group has a mentor assigned to the group. Very helpful. Clarify all your doubts with them)
2. Audio Visual Clip Shown: Reliance BIG TV AD - the one where everyone keeps saying 'mere pass ma hai'. The clip finishes with the product Rel Big TV were advertising.
Common GD topic for all wrt the clip: How has cinema impacted Indian culture. Think about the topic while walking towards your panel's room. 10minute discussion on that.
Tip: DO NOT DIGRESS FROM THE TOPIC. Remember you are there to discuss the topic and NOT the ad
3. GD with the same panel and group for 15minutes. Topic: Economic growth has come to a halt in India
Tip: Read the newspapers. Be aware of what is happening around you in general wrt to the last one week.
4. PI
PI began with the extempore in my case. Pick up a chit from a bowl and speak for 5mins!! Topic: Intellegence is much more important than emotion when it comes to life (not exact but somth to that effect)
PI: started with basic academic questions wrt YOUR GRADUATION FIELD. know your basics. Technicals are not as important as long as you can explain the basics well.
Lots of Questions on CFA (I have cleared level 1). Questions from Annexure 10% :(.
I have won several national, international, state level, company awards. Sadly they did not even open the file!! So no questions on extracurriculars.
My interview was probably one of the longest - 35 minutes.
Tip: FUNDAMENTALS are very important!

General Tips:
The no. at the end of your group id is your number within the group. Afaik, each group has 8 people provided there are 0 absentees.
The no. within the group decides where you sit in your GD and when your interview is scheduled.
Being no.1, I sat to the extreme left in both GDs, and my interview was the first one within my group.

Why would you want to come a day early??? there are no accommodation arrangements made for aspirants
If your slot is on 6th morning then your bus timings are 7:15am,7:30am and 7:45am on 6th morning itself..

Sorry cant help you on that. No idea man. dont even know the other extempo topics else I would have shared them.

I dont think all panels asked interviewees to speak for 5mins. I maybe wrong but I think others may have been asked to speak for about 2mins. Wait for more experiences to confirm this or ask your buddy.
how long does the entire process take:
my process started at about 8:30 am with registration. I was the first person in my group for PI. I was done with everything by 11:30am. The last person finished by 1:30pm
Fyi, I am not the right person to ask about Bus facilities. Drove down from Mumbai @ 5 45 am and left for Mumbai @ 2pm. Fyi, I noticed a bus leaving the campus at around 1 45pm for the main city which means drop facilities were probably available. I think this was the first bus.

regarding extempo: I spoke for about 4mins . then asked how much time I had left. Panel told me I had 1 minute left. Thought about what to say for 15seconds and concluded in another 30 seconds.
imho, when you feel you are approaching the end of the given time period specially if it is 3mins +, ask them how much time you have on you and give a nice well rounded conclusion.
always better to finish the extempo calm, composed with a logical conclusion than be asked to stop speaking while saying something irrelevant:clap::clap::clap:
do they give you time to think or do you have to start right away?
