Climate Change :

It is said that Earth does not belong to man but man belongs to earth. However, mankind always exploited earth for fulfill their own demand which resulted into scarce of resources.

Rising population and ever-rising desire of human beings have led to to technical innovations of all kinds. These innovations have made life more comfortable but at the cost of increased demands of food, air, water, minerals, and energy etc. However, these resources are limited and also earth have limited capacity to renew them.Rapid depletion of resources all around us has caused  unprecedented changes in global climate and resulting in serious implication on the survival of both human and animals species on the earth. The extinction of dinosaurs because of inability to adapt climate change is a good example of this.It is feared that due to climate change one fourth of the species could be headed to extinction by 2050.

Climate change is defined as long term changes in the earth's climate due to natural, mechanical, and anthropological processes which results into the emission of green house gases like co2,methane etc. These gases settle in stratosphere and trap the outward radiation (heat) within atmosphere resulting into global warming and changing climate pattern. Increasing global temp, melting of glaciers, rising sea level, shifting of seasons, un-seasonal rain, oceanic acidification, coral bleaching , changing agricultural pattern have resulted in various frequent disaster like landslide, tsunami, drought, famine, population migration and serious health hazards not just for us but also for our children and grand children.

So the need of an hour to think sustainable solutions which are not just temporary but it should also take into account  the needs of future generation. It must be recognized that natural resources are not unlimited so its use should be rationed and planned so as to ensure sustainable development. Nature friendly alternatives like wind farms, solar energy, geo thermal energy, hydro power energy, wave generation plant, biomass energy for generation of power need to be explored and implement in to the system.

Climate change is a global phenomena so it is the responsibility of world country to come with some sustainable solution to fight against it. Formalization of UNFCCC at Rio in 1992 was the beginning of great global efforts to tackle climate change. After this various protocols came into existence like Kyoto protocol to reduce the GHGs, Nayoga Protocol to  fair and equitable share of benefits arising out of utilization of convention on bio diversity, Montreal protocol to save the ozone layer. In the 21st century COP 21 is the major climate summit in which most of the country came with INDCs with their approach to climate change mitigation and reduction in the emission of green house gases.

India's INDC aimed at to reduce the green house gases 33-35% by introducing several renewable energy source and use of non fossil fuels, It also aimed at to create an addditionl carbon sink of 2.5-3 billion tonnes of CO2 equivaleent by increasing forest cover.Through this INDC India has shown its commitment to combat climate change and "be a part of solution even though it was not part of problem".
