99.65%ile in CET 2018 open category HU...Any chance for Simsree?
I have been reading the comments on posts over here, and would want to clarify one final time, what is it about the Europe Industrial Visit? Please provide some information. A few questions came to my mind.
Is it authorized by the college or the government?
Is it available at subsidised rates since it is a government college?
Does the government/college manage the trip or any private agency?
Is it really helpful?

A. If you are a FRESHER and willing to take no efforts: simsree is for you bcz placements out here happens based on luck only. If you have no passion for management studies, Take admission here. But remember there wont be any skill enhancement and any rigorous curriculam which can transform you. And never think that you got placed bcz of your talent. Why recruiters come on campus is just for good candidates with less packages. The profiles are backend support only or sales irrespective of your specialization.
B. If you are EXPERIENCED between 2ys and above:
think more than once before deciding to take admission here. students have joined this institute by leaving 7lpa packages but the mockery is even if someone has done CFA L1, the institute has failed to make them stand out, bcz our whole education system is that way only unless some1 doesnt put pressure and pushes you to the limit the students are hardly get skilled and tested. Students have left RIL, LnT,Godrej,TATA,Bajaj etc jobs and didnt get skilled as per their ability and potentials.
Yes, students are very poor in their basics irrespective of thir specialization n mere top 10-20% talent doesnt make any difference. it is common case at any institute. almost 805 batch are not skilled at basic MS office also... advanced excel and PPT leave alone. Certifications and courses are just for the name sake. Students forget after few months bcz nothing happens post that. after 2yrs students dont skilled to basic email , ppt, excel hygine.

If you have option plz consider another attempt for next year of getting more experience(2.5-3.5yrs is ideal). Dont waste your precious time in NO VALUE ADDITION. the adminstration of institute is so lethargic and unconcern about quality or skill improvements , No support fro final placements , not even cooperative at infrastruture availability.
Abt EU or Intr. IV - it is tours and travels business for some vested minds..admin is part of it as they get free trip if X no of students opt for trip. Abt fines- they are everywhere bt some fines are ridiculous n illogical like annual clg event. TPO is least effective at this place, bt gets ~20-28LPA from students.(as student has to pay Rs.15k for final placements)
Director is most lethargic fellow, heads 3 different institutes and least interested at SIMSREE betterment. He must resign bcz he is spoiling career of 180 every year. Students chose some useless Chairpersons every year after sem 2, the fellows who are immature to lead the fine talent in batch. if some1 takes admission and doesnt makes to any commiittee Plz dont worry bcz thos who makes hardly 2-3 would be good. there are exceptional talent who doesnt make to these nonsense things.
now this isnt out of any personal grudge but to save 2yrs of career of some1 who has lots of expectations and worked hard for cracking these entrance exams. Bcz 2yrs full time course is big time for investment.
there are many things at downside but its good institute for freshers and not for experienced fellows. Admin,students may tell you any justification but truth is far different from what these official spokepersons from simsree would tell you.
Dont think this would be reason or we can create difference, we can change this etc. FORGET, you go for self transformation not institute transformation, people get paid at institute for skilling you. Student driven is symbol of failure of this institute.
So make wise choice and study for yourself and for future not for money, it will follow.
Desclaimer- This isnt badmouthing against institute where I studied, Its for saving future of those who quest for betterment in their life.
So is kj somaiya better than simsree in terms of learning, placements and opportunities??
what is CAT cutoff for simsree
MMS Sydenham vs MSC Finance JBIMS.... Kindly suggest keeping in mind degree value, Placements, peer group etc... Is msc finance at JBIMS worth taking against MMS at Sydenham?

I am never into social media debates but when it comes to defending the sanctity of college, Yes I will chip in. All the Accusations/Allegations over a series of fake profiles are a bit interesting and trust me, all are true but a bit twisted.
First of all can someone clarify who these fake profiles are..?
1. Few unemployed people paid by some vested institutes to derank our college, so that they can be rank 2nd and fill their corporate coffers with more money.
2. Students who got admission in sydenham out of sheer luck or reservation, and doesnt know what it takes to crack 99.8+ percentiles.
3. Losers who will always blame system rather than working hard. Trust me, they will do the same in corporates and will blame organizations.
In last year counselling round, 100+ people fighted for 2-3 seats and 90% of them were studying in KJ Somaiya who had already paid first year fees in their college. That's the power of sydenham..!!!
Now lets adress the most controversial topic about being student driven college. It means virtually taking all the decisions right from conducting seminars, lectures, events, workshops by the student themselves. The best part is we know about the current trending skills and we conduct the relevant worshops with subsidized rate.
Advantage of conducting events in our college is you develop contacts with corporates, negotiation skills, convincing abilities etc. College gives entire creative freedom and infrastructure to condcut your event. You won't understand this until you do this.
Related to IV, No one forces you to participate in IV. Its entirely optional.
Related to lectures, we got some of the best faculties in campus to conduct lectures. I agree frequency was a bit less as college gives high importance towards skill based workshops and seminars. Lectures were focussed mainly towards application of the knowledge rather than university textbook based theoreticals.
Related to placements: Our alumni's are at top positions across the globe. I am doing summer internship in one of the top banks in BKC. Our India head is our alumni and it takes other executives to take an appointment to meet him but he always meets us casually to guide us. I was part of the summer intern batch, where 11 people were from IIM A,B and C, 2 from NMIMS and 2 from sydenhams. Giving details to give you a flavour of how we get opportunities to be placed in higher leagues where the companies never look out of IIMs. Same is the case with other reputed corporates that comes to our campus. There were also incidences where corporates couldn't select any candidate because they couldn't find students with ther desired skills. Remember none of the company are simply going to hire you just because of your cet percentiles, you have to hone your skills and fight for it.
Our induction starts 10 day prior to official commencement of the college and all the assignments, case studies, activities are crisp and relevant to the advance curriculum that is needed in current corporate world. Our induction of 2 weeks is tightly packed hell week and have been lauded by corporate executives.
Last but not the least, you will always face certain shortcomings in every phase of your life. It depends on how you find opportunities out of it and the one who finds, are the true managers. I agree even we do have certain shortcomings, but rather than cribbing, responsible persons are making every effort to improvise on that year on year, but again entire onus lies on you. While I am writing this post, few students are sitting in college sacrificing their weekend to plan a superb induction for 2018 batch students.

Hey guys what are the usual college timings for simsree?I understand that the timetable may not be fixed throughout the year.
When will the placement reports for 2017-18 be uploaded, the website still shows the report for 2016-17... I had asked months back and it was said that it will be uploaded soon.. please understand that it is an important document for aspirants to get an idea about the current trends in placements in a particular college.. all other top colleges like jb, kj and welingkar and have already uploaded long back.. since the counselling and cap rounds are are about to start in a few weeks its high time u do it now... Thanks!

those who've contemplated joining simsree for the 2018-2020 academic year ; be aware that simsree is amongst the better institutes based at mumbai / maharashtra.
for those who've been already with us at simsree, most (like me) would be having pleasant memories & for those who've been / are here and have felt short-changed at the times spent at simsree and are carrying disheartened emotions means that they too have a strong connect with simsree ; else they would not have spoken about it (being a strong believer of the fact that opposite of love is not hate, in fact, it is indifference), so those who have spoken against us at simsree surely love us and not hate and this to my mind is the biggest victory for us at simsree.
rest, let the debate rage on : the article 19 (1) of our great country's constitution does allow for freedom of speech and expression (till it does no harm to the conscience, integrity and security of the state and others) !
