Hi bro, as far as I know, inter state transfers don't happen until one gets to be Class-I (i.e. Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax). Would you be interested in getting posted to Bhopal zone. I can swap it for Chandigarh if no one comes forward offering UP or Mumbai...

There is no growth in SBI. For all of ur life u're going to be clerk only. Here u will have ample growth opportunities. Who know u may get posting to ur home town after joining. Do not think much. Go n join.


common man....so wrong of ya to say tht....thr r gud enogh oppurtunities fo promotion in banks nd tht includes clerks 2....u clear JIB,CIB,no1 can stop ya frm gettin promotions every 2-3 years...even if u dun get any promtion,u knw tht u atleast had a chance depending on your efforts.....here its just seniority...

nd people dun take promotions voluntarily in banks even if dey r eligible due to d fear of transfers nd increasd workload....so u cn b a clerk fo ya whole lifetime if u fal in tht category...

nd he cant get his hometown....he has got chennai nd CBEC doesnt entertain zone transfers at ol...otha thn tht spouse thing....!!!

u can get it signed from Doctor of government office also........

well i don think in bank u can get promotions every 2-3 years-i say dat as i myself and many of my friends were and are bank employees.

promotions in cbec is seniority based agreed but not entirely though. a TA can become an STA in 2 years r 3yrs at de max and can become an ins-promotionally or thru dept exams and an ins at cbec has its own status quo and the pay is also good.

well as u say a guy with fear of workloads cant go up de ladder in a bank how dya expect him to do de same in an org like cbec? ppl known to me joined as ins and r now workin as Asst comm and as Asst directors in DoE (under deputation) thru sheer hard work and nuthin else and in comparatively short time too.

here is sumthin else u might wanna listen to. one of the Asst directors dat is beknown to me used to tel me not jus once that he knows of a person dat joined as an udc in cbec and went on to become a Member! (he used to egg me on tellin me dis)

and finally to the person that u have replied to, i would strongly suggest him to quit his bank job and join cbec at de earliest!!!

bt wat bout other assistants like in ministry of railways,mea,defence etc?wats there place of posting.

Very well worded. Everything I wanted to say is already said. I'd only add one thing. This being a 5 day week - job, one will get enough time if one is aspiring for other exams, civil services for example. A bank job will never allow that.

There is not much merit in waiting for one more year as u r already a TA in CBDT. You can go for auditors and accountant posts as they offer grade pay of 2800. But u should stay at present job if u have managed to get a good place of posting.

i wont suggest any1 to go fo d bank job but was just talkin abt d growth aspect here buddy....othawise me being a banker myself wont ask any1 to cont wid bank leavin a central govt job....d most imp point was of his hometown nd growth....surely bank has very high growth chances thn CBEC...

nd d examples u quoted r d rarest of rare cases which wud hav happnd due to sum sources at d top....its not possible to get so many promotions in ny govt deptt(if u aint into civils)....nd CBEC is among d worsts...

i got selected for the post for Auditor in CGDA and i received the copy of notice that has been sent to police for verification by pune office ....


hey i also got d same circle for same post but didnt receiv any police verification doc. When u had sent d attestation form to them:-)..

Hi, i want to ask what to do in character certificate form attached with the attestation form. It has two names to be written along with their designation + attestation from magistrate etc. my query is these two names have to be judges name only or any two gazetted officers name and then attested by magistrate, judge etc., i m bit confused, plz help me...........

Any gazetted officer state or central including the principal of govt college where u last studied is acceptable.
