CONDITION FOR TWO YEARS HAVING THE SAME CALENDER
**Two years will have the same calender if the period(no. of days between the two years) between them is divisible by 7 or the sum of all the odd days in the period is divisible by 7.

Note: Odd days in a normal (non leap year) consisting of 365 days is 1 as  365 = 7*52 + 1
Similarly, in a leap year consisting of 366 days, number of odd days = 2 as 366= 7*52 + 2

                          Non Leap year                     Leap year
Odd days                    2                                        1

For e.g
Ques. The calendar for the year 2007 will be the same for the year: [A]. 2014 [B]. 2016 [C]. 2017 [D]. 2018

Sol: Calculate the number of odd days between the year given in question to the year preceding the one given in each option.

Case [A], 2014 Calculate odd days for the years 2007 - 2013 (i.e beginning from 2007 till the complete year 2013)

Year:          2007    2008   2009    2010   2011   2012    2013  Sum

Odd days:  1            2         1            1          1          2           1       9

Case [B], 2016 Calculate odd days for the years 2007 - 2015 (i.e beginning from 2007 till the complete year 2015)

Year:        2007  2008  2009   2010  2011  2012  2013  2014  2015

Odd days:  1          2         1           1         1        2        1          1        1

Sum of odd days = 11

Case [C], 2017 Calculate odd days for the years 2007 - 2016 (i.e beginning from 2007 till the complete year 2016)

Year:         2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016

Odd days:  1          2       1          1        1        2       1         1      1        2

Sum of odd days = 13

Case [D], 2018 Calculate odd days for the years 2007 - 2017 (i.e beginning from 2007 till the complete year 2017)

Year:     2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017

Odd days: 1      2        1        1        1         2      1        1        1       2         1

Sum of odd days = 14

Now in only case [D] , the sum of odd days in the given period is divisible by 7. So the calender of 2007 is same as of 2018.
