Subject : Reckoning Date for calculation age for SSC CGLE 2016 must be 01 Jan 2016
According to Staff Selection Commission CGLE 2016 notification F. No. 3/1/2016-PP-I published on SSC-MPR website, under point 5(A), it is mentioned that Age limit will be reckoned as on 1st August, 2016 instead of 1st January,2016. As per the The DoPT guidelines, which are generally followed by the SSC stipulate that age limit and educational qualification should be reckoned as on 1st January of the year in which the Examination is notified if the First stage of the written examination is held before 30th June and as on 1st August if the first stage of the examination is held on or after 1st July. If the guidelines are followed, the job aspirants who were born between 1st Jan 1989 and 31st July 1989 will become overaged for posts other than SI in CBI, Stat Investigator and AEO. We faced a similar situation in CGL 2012, and in CGL 2015 , if my memory serves me right, In 2012 when the Examination was notified in end March and the Tier I Examination was held on 1st and 8th July 2012. Mr. N K Raghupathy (EX SSC Chief) sought and obtained a special dispensation from the DoPT that age limit for this examination would be reckoned as on 1st January of the year as a special case. I hope the SSC is aware of this and will take similar action. In 2015,F.No. 3/2/2015-PP-I (Pt-II), SSC -2015 Corrigendum, 26/05/2015, SSC CGLE notification same mistake happened and then at later stage it gets rectified via CAT case. Same deliberate mistake can be seen now in SSC CGLE-2016 notification. Candidates (like me) and around 1 lakh candidates that have last attempt of the examination are now not eligible for filling up the form. Please have mercy on our future, this is the solo exam we are preparing with full dedication. Please change Age of Reckoning from 01 August,2016 to 01st January,2016, as it is a matter of many candidates lives and livelihood.

Hello good morning all...i am veteran bank examinee but new bee in ssc, so please solve my queries.....as i ve qualifications for applying for both statistical investigator and ass. audit officer, can i apply for both the posts ? and if yes, then do i need to appear for two additional papers ie stat and gs ( acc and finance) apart from maths and eng in tier2 ? thank you i advance.
