today I m posting for Time and work :- (TIME AND WORK , PIPES AND CISTERNS )
we always consider fractional value for time and work .... if A can do a work in 5 days , then how it came one day work ?? :o
one day work => 1/5 ...
now , we see a basic formula ..... time is inversely proportional to workforce means if workforce is double , then time is 1/2 .... same concept which is used in time and speed .... ;)
now come to the point ..... basic formula is => Men * days*hrs/work
so , now we approach to LCM method which is the easiest many times ( I suggest you not to go for percentage method given in Sarvesh kr verma , Arun sharma because it's fast sometimes only but many times hectic to do ..... rest is your choice 😉 )
suppose A can do a work in 36 days and B => 45 days .... then LCM (36,45) => 180 ( you can take any value multiple of lcm ) ...
hence , efficiency of A=> 180/36 or 5 , B => 4 ...
both can do 5+4=9 work in 1 day ... so total work => 180 .. hence total time => 180/9 = 20 days ...
alternate or basic method :-
1/36+1/45 => 9/180 => 1/20 ....
now , move for another example :-
A is 50% as fast as B and both can do a work in 9 days . In how many days will B do it alone ??
efficiency ratio= A:B=> 1.5 : 1 = 3:2
total efficiency * total time = total work ...
hence => 5*9 = 45 ...
now , total work / efficiency => no . of days .. => 45/2= 22.5 days by B and 45/3=15 days by A ....
another example is :-
A can do a work in 5 days while B 6 days ...... C can do it in 8 days .... A does for 2 days and then B joins and leaves after working 2.5 days ..... how many days C worked ??
now LCM ( A,B,C) => LCM(5,6,8)=120
efficiency ( A,B,C)=> (120/5,120/6,120/8)=> (24,20,15)
now A for 2 days => 24*2 ... B for 2.5 days => 2.5*20 ...
total work done => 48+50 => 98 ... remaining => 120-98=22 ...
hence 22 work will be done by C and no. of days C worked for => 22/8=11/4 days
PS:- koi galti ho sakti hain ......... comment kare .... 🙏 .... practice kare ;)
can any one please tell me the cut off for mea?
