How to score 45/50 in reasoning?? What book to practice??
Today I am posting about time speed and distance .............
As we know that time is inversely proportional to speed or vice versa ......... what does it mean ?? iska matlab maan lo time double ho jaye toh speed 1/2 ho jayegi ya speed double karde toh time 1/2 ho jayega ..............
Now we use this concept in general use ............. now if our speed is 4/3 then time is 3/4 or 1/4 less than usual ......... if our speed is 4/5 then time is 5/4 or 1/4 more than usual ............. now , we use this technique to short our approach ........
eg:- a man covers 42 km in 21 hrs ..... if he increases his speed by 1 km/h then what is the time taken by him ??
speed=> 42/21=2kmph ..... now 1/2 increment in speed , 1(2+1) decrement in time so time is => 2/3 *21=14 mins
basic approach => 2 kmph .... now speed => 3 kmph ... so , time=> 42/3=14 mins ..
eg:2 => a boy goes to school from his house at 5kmph and reaches 10 mins late . If he increases his speed by 2 kmph , then reaches the school 5 mins before . What is the distance from house to school??
solution :- 2/5 increment , 2/(2+5) decrement in time which is equal to => 10+5=15 mins ... hence usual time=> 15*7/2=105/2 mins
distance => 5*105/2 *1/60 => 4.375 km
eg:3=> A train met an accident after covering 100 km and covers the remaining distance with 4/5 of its speed and reaches the terminal 45 mins late . Had the accident occurred 50 km after , then it would have reached 30 mins late ...... what is the total distance and speed of the train ??
solution :- there are two scenarios :-
S(starting)-------100km-------------B-----------4/5 speed----------T(Terminal)
S----------------100km---------------B-----50km-----C-----4/5speed--T
ab hum phir wahi approach lagate hain 2 tarah se :-
approach 1:- 4/5 speed , 5/4 time or 1/4 more which is equal to 45 mins .... iska matlab usual time hain => 45*4=180 mins or 3 hrs ...
same for case second and get 4*30=120 mins or 2 hrs ... iska matlab B se C ka time => 3-2=1 hr .... for 50 kms .... isliye speed=> 50/1=50kmph ...
total distance => 100+(B se T tak speed*time)=100+(50*3)=250 km
approach 2 :- ab dusri approach dekho ........... 4/5 speed or 1/5 reduction in speed => 1/(5-1) = 1/4 more time which is equal to (45-30) mins for 50 kms ... isliye usual time for 50 kms => 4*15=60 mins or 1 hr ... isliye speed=> 50kmph ....
distance => 150+(C se T tak ) => 150+(50*2)=250 kms .... ( C se T tak ka usual time nikalana padega ) ...

Guyz please guide... this is about G.S for pre... last time I read ncerts and arihant magbook for all topics separately though I had to do because preparing for state pcs also... and got 19.25 marks.. but now seeing the time left, weightage and the kind of paper that comes in G.S I have planned to go for lucent and previous years papers only... would this be right approach to cover everything that is generally being asked in exam and to get t 20-25 marks this time??? Plz advice
