5 Reasons why SSC CGL has become one of the world's toughest exam...
1. High competition (Around 14 lakh aspirants competing for just 2-3k jobs that to with home state postings). Further many candidates are repeaters as they appear 4-5 times consecutively. One of my friend successfully cleared SSC CGL thrice and secured post in Excise, IT and CBI. However he still appeared for the 4th time because he wanted home positng. This are the people who increase the merit.
2. Inefficient SSC (It is due to inablity of SSC to keep paper level same and inablity to stop cheating the exam became luck based and hard to clear)
3. Luck based online test paper system (Ideally a test should be such that it should effectively differentiate between an under prepared and hardworking aspirant. However, clearing the SSC CGL test has become a roadies task as a good candidate will not only have to just depend on his talent and hard work but also luck by chance. Â Â
4. Cheating (Back in 2012 the prelims cut off used to be just in 80's (UR) and final cut off for iterview was 359 (UR). I remember one of my friend got IT Mumbai with 395 marks + 72 marks in interview. That was the case when cheaters were still figuring out ways to break through. Last year the prelims cut off when soaring 137 (UR) and cut off for TA was 520 bloody hell! Some toppers might blame me for crying and may say that the high cut off was only because of high competition and gud students. Guys please search the inetrnet you will find  many modus operandi and incidences of cheating in online test and 2016 merit was not just a true picture of competition. So basically what I mean is MERIT + CHEATING = 137 MARKS  CUT OFF IN SSC CGL 2016.Â
5. Removal of  Interview from CGL: People keep asking that Why CAT, IIT, bank POs, etc exams kaise bina controversy k hote hai. why case is filed only against SSC CGL and not these other exams. Well the reason is they conduct interview. Interview system deters cheaters. Cheating krke written me marks to easily aa skte hai lekin interview se unki phatti hai. Therefore removal of interview means more cheaters and high cut off.Â
PS: It is not copied and straight from my observation after appearing in the SSC for the 4th time.
