Got this from a quora answer.Can anyone confirm whether this answer is based on any factual data?Or just rumours? : " There are many reason , pls have a look in nutshell1 . Normalization case , Ssc knows very well students have got a no of evidence of difficulty level of Cgl17 tier 1 shift , I am 90% sure in the history of SSC , there is going to be normalization in first time ( will be see on 15 Feb)2. AAO/JSO separate cut off caseMy one friend who works in CSS is saying that SSC collecting the whole CGL17 15 lakh condidate data and planning a formula for normalization which will take almost 15 to 20 daysSSC chairman khurana himself took responsibility for this and with his 15–20 team members working on this issueI am damn sure that you should get yourself ready for Normalization , according to my friend normalization will be like
5 Aug to 7 Aug : +5 to 7 marks increased
7 Aug to 15 Aug : +10 to 15 marks increased
16 aug to 18 Aug : +5 to +10
18 Aug to 23 Aug ( easiest shift): — 5 to 10 marks decrease
