Are these senetences exceptional? Need Answers ?
1. half of the books / ( has/ have ) been read / by me.
2. Half of the movie / (was/ were) boring / but I liked music .
in these sentences the rule is if ( 1/2 of something) + uncountable(or one) then singular (sub or verb )
As according to me the answer of first should be "Has" which is correct also but here "half of the books " is countable so then according to rule "have" should come in first qwestion?

Sad that today we have come down to this level,where people are seeking justification on whether Vande Matram should be a provocative slogan or not.I am no great fan of Modi,its just that I would vote for him because i have a little more hope in his reform oriented agenda and his choice of hardliner hindutva leaders like Yogi Adityanath(notably the Vajpayee Advani lobby sidelined selfless hindutva leaders like Balraj Madhok),than I have in a congress led by Rahul Gandhi(who was caught with drugs in NewYork Airport way back in 2002,and saved by the diplomatic intervention of the then PM Vajpayee Ji.Raveesh Kumar will never tell u this).What I am seeing is that in their hatred for Modi or bjp,people are ending up justifying anti nationalism.If u dont like Modi,u need not vote for him,u can campaign against him in a constitutional ,civil manner,but dont spearhead ur dislike for Modi or ur angst with lesser govt job vacancies towards sacred chants like Vande Matram.I wont tell anyone hating Modi an anti-national,because Modi is not the epitome of nationalism.But i will brand anyone speaking against chanting Vande Matram in any bit of indian territory an anti-National.This slogan of Vande Matram comes from the sacred book Ananda Math by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.Back then,people in Kolkata courted arrest for mere possession of the book Ananda Math or the public chanting of Vande Matram.Hence I consider Ananda Math to be a sacred book,because people sacrificed lives on this book or on the chant of vande matram.Vande Matram has Matri Shakti infused in it,hence its mere chant brought a sense of tyag or renunciation .This matri shakti is the spiritual strength of Bharat Varsha,which is the land of 7 holy rivers,the 51 shakti peeths,and the solemn Himalayas.Bankim Chandra unknowingly infused a bit of this Matri Shakti or spiritual potency into the mantra of Vande Matram,as Rishi Aurobindo had said. Hence whatever be ur political ideology,whoever u look up to as PM or CM or ur leader,never disrespect or try to sideline Vande MAtram. For the sake of Maa Durga, Vande Matram IS NOT A JUMLA OF MODI,it is a chant with which martyrs like Bhagat Singh went to the gallows with happy faces.We can no more live up to the sacrifices of Bhagat Singh,Netaji,Rashbehari Bose,Bagha JAtin or ChandraSekhar Azad,but at the least we can assure the sanctity of "Vande MAtram".
