ย Staff selection commission is going on to conduct tier 2 examination of CGL 2017 even though a case is going on in CAT regarding the declaration of results of Tier 1. The reason they site is that since all the arrangements have been made, it would be a waste of money to not to conduct the exam, even though the case was filed in Oct 2018 but since then SSC has been stalling the proceedings by asking for more time to collect the data and on 15th Feb- 5 months later, no data was submitted by SSC. The CAT has refused to grant the stay and will decide later on the issue regarding tier 1 results.
The issue with the Tie 1 is that it was conducted in 43 shifts which means there were 43 different sets of papers. Now, any exam which is conducted in multiple shifts like GATE conducted by IITs, CAT conducted by IIMs, PO exam conducted by IBPS etc. has provision for normalisation of scores because the level of difficulty in various shifts varies. Normalisation is done even if the exam is conducted in only two shifts like the GATE because it is humanly impossible for anyone to prepare two different sets of papers with absolutely same level of difficult. Now the thing is that the SSC claims its "experts" prepare 43 sets of question papers with absolutely same level of difficulty. The important thing to note is that there are on an average 5-6 wrong questions out of 100 questions in every question paper prepared by these "experts". On top of that they have to revise their own answer key at least 2 times for which they charge 100 Rs from candidates to rectify their own blunders. How can anyone believe that those "experts" who can't even prepare an error free question paper of 100 questions can prepare 43 different sets of question paper with absolutely same level of difficulty? Even the experts who prepare question papers for prestigious exams like GATE and CAT accept that its impossible even if there are only 2 sets of question paper that is why average and standard deviation is calculated for both shifts and scores of candidates is normalized.
SSC has stalled the proceedings for 5 months and is going to conduct the CGL -2017 exam from 17-15 feb. They say they don't want to waste money as labs have been booked. What about the wastage of candidates precious time? What about those candidates who won't qualify this year because of unfairness of commission and will ineligible to apply next year due to age? What about the transparency in recruitment process? Is this the New India PM Narendra Modi talks about?
It's a shame that the government which boasts of working for transparency could not even manage to recruit its own staff in a transparent and fair manner.
The exam will be held from 17th to 21st Feb. Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be conducted in 5 shifts and I am very sure the "experts" will prepare all the 5 sets of exactly same level of difficulty because, well, they are "EXPERTS OF SSC".
Jai Hind-Experts ka sataya "SSC-CGL Aspirant"ย
Kindly share this on your facebook/social media accounts/forums. Probably media attention will force SSC to conduct exam in a fair and competent manner.

This for everyone who is going to take Tier2 (starting tomorrow onwards)-
In life, everything may deceive you but your hardwork and sincerity will always pay. So just do not worry or think about easy shifts hards shifts, Tier 1 marks, etc and especially do not be bothered by people around you as you never know what their weaknesses are. Just give your 100% and ย do the best that you can. Remember you all have already cleared a milestone (Tier 1) so obviously you all are better than many others, you all have it in you to be the best performers. Atleast give this much credit to yourself. Just believe in yourself. Stay Calm Stay Confident.ย
During the 2 hours of exam do not think what others might be doing or how much they would be attempting, just make sure that you have given your 100%.
May the force be with you :) All the Best Everyone!!!
All the best to the people attempting the exam tomorrow. Don't let distractions of the past few days affect your performance ๐ย
