i read in some blogs that while filling preferences one should apply for posts that have relatively less competition. i didn't understand how does it matter if a particular post has less competition or more. At the end of the day the post will go to a candidate with a higher score if he has filled it as 3rd preference and there are no vacancies left in his first 2 preferences. right?
