want quick method
a tradesman defrauds to the extent of 10% in buying goods and also defrauds to the extent of 10% while selling goods. find his gain percent
1.Defraudes 10% while buying and 10% while selling: my interpretation=100 gm initial +10% for buying=110 gm +10% for selling=121. Profit=21/100*100=21%(there's no mention about claiming to sell at cost price). 2. uses 10% less weight while buying and uses 10% more weight(faulty) while selling: 100 gm initial or actual, but it shows 90 gm. So,he gives 90 rs for actual 100 gm. Now, he increases 10%gm=110 and gets 110 rs. Profit 20/90*100=22(2/9) ( there's no mention about claiming to sell at original cost price). 3. For third type question,refer to the post by sir Dark Alex. There will be no confusion for this type if we read the question carefully.
