What is the method of giving marks in SSC Interview:

*All 4 panelists give out of 25 each & then marks are added to get out of 100????

*Marks out of 100 based on Overall impression???

*Fixed marks weightage of work experience/education/EC??

This is something no one has discussed despite being important..

Hi friends I have made .xls sheet containing final marks(Including interview)  of 2014 -- attaching here:

Finally the day came...This was the second interview after i graduated and first for any gov job...My First interview was way back in 2010 when i got selected for infosys limited right after my graduation.

It was quintessentially perfect interview(yesterday's).I could not have asked for anything better than this. Really on cloud nine :-).....This is how it goes------->>>

Date:15/03/2016

NR Board 4 (M1-Centre IAS,M2-Sardarji,M3-Lady)

In toto 32-33 questions were asked could not answer 2(tried answering but the M1 did not seem satisfied....) As soon as i entered in the room, greeted them, chairman was smiling at me though reluctantly....He asked me to sit...i thanked him(offcourse)

M1(Chairman IAS Officer at the centre):OK..Mr. singh you are from deoria, tell me something about it?

Sir, Deoria is quite famous in the indian history because it was one of the mahajanpada i.e. MALLA MAHAJANPADA which flourished, on the advent of second urbanization during 600 BCE.It is also famous because this is the same place where gautam Buddha attained MAHAPARINIRVANA.That place is situated in kushinagar district which got separated from deoria in the year 1994.The chauri chaura incident that took place during noncooperation movement in the year 1920,that place is located 20 kms west of deoria.

M1:You have completed you engineering from pune?why you went all the way to maharashtra?

Sir i was allotted a college there through AIEEE counselling...

M1:ohh i see...you have mentioned that you have a knack of collecting latin phrases, why latin only not others?

Yes sir...I started reading The Hindu almost 3 years back when i was planning to leave infosys and prepare for government services(I deftly eschewed from mentioning that i am preparing for UPSC,and avoided unnecessary questions like why ssc if preparing for upsc, and he did ask too) .In the editorial and other sections they always keep these latin phrases in italics which almost differentiated itself from the other texts. So it always used to be the cynosure of my attention. Then i started keeping tab of all those phrases that used to come every now and then.I have maintained a diary which has more than 150 latin phrases as of now all collected from same source i.e The Hindu.

M1:Ohh..wow can you tell me which one you have added recently your diary?

sir...."sui generis"

M1:What it means?

sir it means unique or Constituting a class of its own.

M1:Can you frame a sentence out of it?

yes sir why not....Experts consider the Dhoni's batting style to be sui generis.

M1:What does "suo moto" means? on its own initiative sir.....It is quite common and used every now and then with reference to our esteemed supreme court. SC took suo moto cognisance of this case.

M1:Alright...what does "summum bonum" means?

sir it means The supreme god...

M1:what does "deus ex machina" means?

sir it means a person who appears out of blue to solve an insoluble difficulty..

M1:"persona non grata"?

A diplomat who is not welcome to a country where he/she is sent... M1:what does "Au courant" means?

Being up to particular standard....

M1: Very good....(pointing to other two to ask questions)

M3(Lady):you have donated blood quite a few times(7 in total), can you tell me the constituents of blood?

yes mam....Blood is made up of plasma(55%) and blood cells(45%).Plasma contains 90% water,6% some important proteins like abumen, globulin, fibrinogin and 4% other things like co2,enzymes etc.Blood cells are of mainly three types Red Blood Cells(erythrocytes),white blood cells(Leucocytes) and Platelets (thrombocytes).

M3:what is role of each one of them?

Mam...Rbcs(contains heamoglobin) are helpful in carrying oxygen from lungs to the body tissues, wbcs are the soldiers of the .It attacks the pathogens as and when our body is susceptible to them. These are of 5 types but two are main monocytes which offers nonspecific immunity i mean attacks on every pathogen and other is lymphocytes which offers specific immunity.Platelets are responsible for blood clotting. It forms mesh of fibrin from fibrinogen which in turn stops our blood when it tries to ooze out.

M3:Did someone persuade you to donate or you started on your own?

Mam, frankly speaking i started donating blood when i was in first year of engineering. My blood group is o+ve.At that time i knew that blood group o is universal donor so i thought if i am universal donor then i should donate often because a a person in crisis can benefit out of it.Later i got to know o-ve is universal donor.

M3:What is time gap between donations?

Mam there are two kinds of donations. If You are donating the whole sample of blood then normally you are advised to donate after 3 months only. But there is a other kind of donation APHERESIS where you have the luxury of donating only one of the constituents of blood. In that case donor can recuperate within 14 days hence can donate after every 14 days.

M1:Alankar i know about the whole sample donation but how can you donate only a part of it.I am curious how is that possible? It is possible sir.Even i did not donate via apheresis. But i was curious too and got to know about it after i saw some online videos of it. There will be a machine preprogrammed to accept only one constituents(plasma, rbcs, wbcs) and it will be connected via needle inserted in your body. It will accept only that part which it has been preprogrammed to and others it will simply segregate and push it back to you body. (I really scored here because none of them in the panel knew about apheresis and i could see a smugness of satisfaction in their eyes. They seemed immensely influenced by this)

M2(Sardarji):How president gets elected?

Told him the static answer from laxmikant...PROPORTIONALREPRESENTATION..STV...QUOTA...EACH MLA AND MP VOTE SHARE FORMULA ALL THAT

M2:How SC CJI AND judge is appointd?

Told him about the By president collegium system..how NJAC came into force(amendment 99)...and how it got repealed by SC and collegium system has been restored.

M2:WHAT IS SAARC?

It is group of 8 countries in south asia....namely india,pakistan,bhutan,bangladesh,afghanistan,nepal.maldives,

srilanka. It was formed on 8th december 1985. Its headoffice is in kathmandu and Arjun bahadur thapa is its current secretary general. M2:(He had a smile on his face) who will be its next head?

(I knew straight away.I do not have to be rude and tell how can that happen now sir) so i just mentioned that sir sorry that i am not aware of.

M2:Not a problem. It will be decided when mr. thapa will relinquish the office not now.

M2:Who won football in saff games?

(He intentionally asked this question because he was smiling when he asked this question as i have 4-5 certificates of inter-college level cricket participation and had won best all rounder trophy. He knew cricket i would be able to answer easily)

Sorry sir i wont guess it because i do not folllow football much. M2:Not a Problem..

M3:Why government is emphasizing on tree plantation?

Mam because of co2 content in the atmosphere is increasing by leaps and bounds. It is one of the major GHG responsible for global warming and climate change. SO by planting we are creating sink for this co2 because plant absorb co2 during photosynthesis.

M3:There is one more thing? Mam it has soothing effect to your eyes when you venture out in lush green ambiance and can exercise, practice yoga in open milieu(I thought she is pressing again and again because i had mentioned one of my interests as running in the morning along with collecting latin phrases)

M3:There is one more point?

Sorry mam may be i am not aware of or not able to recollect it. M3:Not a problem...it prevents soil from eroding....me ..."yes mam it does"

M1:Mr singh you have done your graduation in electronics?Tell me something about sky wave propagation?

Sir it is basically using sky as medium of communication.Whatever we communicate via satellite or mobile communication comes under the ambit of sky wave propagation.

M1(First time during n the entire interview he was not satisfied): How ionosphere helps in communication?

Told him about charged particles...and ionospheric bending....because the ionosphere is denser than the layer above to it.So as per snell's law at a particular incident angle it undergoes refraction and returns back again to ionosphere.

M1:what is that phenomenon?

Total Internal Reflection sir....

M1:where it is used?

sir optical fibres sir......all the major telecom companies like airtel, reliance etc are using it for offering us high speed 3g services.. M1:Good...Ok Tell me what is happening in JNU?

Sir prima facie it appeared that the anti-nationalist slogans were raised which caused a lot of pain and resentment to the vast set of people who have put their heart and soul to the service of this country but later it was reported by the committee that video was doctored and then judiciary intervened in the matter as it does every time.We should let the judiciary decide on these matters and then form our viewpoints. We should not prematurely decide and prejudice ourselves by forming an opinion beforehand, instead we should have faith in our judicial system and allow the law to takes its course.

Secondly I would like to quote that India is a country run by institutions and systems not by media. But here in this case media has taken an aggressive stand for their business proliferation or TRP and have started media trials. So i would just like to say that they are the 4th sate and they should behave more decorously which behoves them of being the 4th state.

M1:(Seemed really satisfied no question and he was smiling) what happened in muzaffarnagar,do we have any update on that?

It was a failure on the part of local administration and police system as the same has been reported in the commission instituted in the aftermath of the incident under the chairmanship of Vishnu sashay few day back.

Also every now and then there was some news reporting about the local politician's involvement. I would just like to say that they should work towards placating the conflict between the communities and try to solve the problem amicably if any. They are the representative of the common citizen, who has put his faith in them to work for his welfare and development. In the Linkon's words A Democracy is of the people, for the people and by the people and they should always stand by this maxim. (Again seemed contended.......aced it)

M1:Can you name 4 tribes of up? yes sir....korwa,kol,agariya(mirzapur),Tiar(ballia),kotwar(mirzapur and sonbhadra)

M1:can you mention 4 tribes of assam named after hills? yes sir...mikir,rengma,tiwa or lalung, karbi

M1:Nice....OK Mr singh you can leave now..... I thanked all of them....it was nice speaking with you all...chairman replied same here.

During the entire course of interview i maintained eye contact with all of them even though at times i felt mam was wittingly looking downwards so that i should not look that side(and loose some brownie points) but i did care.I knew it was ruse so despite every now and then i felt like that but kept my side of it intact....... I guess my job was done there...now it was the time to go home and have a good sound sleep.......

(I have high hopes......expecting 70+)...lets see how it pans out!!

ATB to all of you who are yet to face the interview........

Are the panels of the respective boards same on every day of interview or do they keep changing?

If I'm able to type 2000 characters at home in 13 minutes, will I be able to qualify the CPT?
