If after board found they are genuine candidate then sit will given to them ... Or if they are guilty then sit goes to next cgl

Guys, I have been confused by a decision making/ethical dilemma related Q. Please help me in finding the correct answer. I understand there are no perfect answer to such situations but your replies would be appreciated. The problem is something like this ==>: Suppose you are chief of a Central Govt staff recruiting organisation. You recently conducted a major examination (including the interviews). However, the final result date had to be be postponed twice due to certain with-held cases. A group of distressed aspirants came to meet you and find out the exact reason of successive delays, and tentative date of final result.
- You tell them the exact reason of delay and give them a tentative date of final result
- You simply refuse to meet the students
- You tell them there’s no issue and that result will be published soon. And then carry on with the remaining task- interview & typing test for the with-held cases
- You tell them to focus on their studies and let you do your job
