Those obc candidates who score below gen cuttoff in their tier-1 are only eligible for their obc category or they can be considered in general category also.

I think there is a need to clarify a thing. If a person of obc or sc or st category qualifies under general category, there is a fear that he may not get a good department as per his wish, so one chooses to be in his reservation than in general category . But that's not like that, this is how it works. For example there are 50 students selected under general category for posts 45 , in which 30 are in general and 15 for reservation. Now department wise there are two departments A and B . A is for example most sought post like president category and B is coal department. In A 5 for open and 2 for reservation. ( these 2 are part of 15 said above ) Now the first five members as per merit list are awarded A list. Now comes the tricky part. The 6th guy belongs to reservation, he chooses A post and he is allotted under his quota. Now you can see the guy whose rank is 31 and under general category gets the job even though there are only 30 under general category, so even though you score rank of 6000 in general category, with 5000 posts . he gets the job.

Agar Koi obc,sc and st 184 ke niche score he phir usko gen me consider kiya jayga kiya ya phirr sc,st obc me consider kiya jayga????

guys, I want to share my feelings with all of you...I got 195 marks (UR) and a national rank of around 4000..I prepared hard for the typing test..through practice i was able to increase my typing speed upto 50wpm .....3 days ago when i got to know that my typing medium was mentioned as Hindi in my admit card, it was totally a shock for me..i didn't know what to do from here, what went wrong as I was not able to get my application form for validating my point before the commission...some of my friends and family members asked me not to lose hope as there are still 25 days left for the exam and my command over the keys is gonna help me in Hindi typing too...from today I have started preparing for the same...In my admit card medium of DEST is also mentioned as hindi and as far as I know DEST takes place only in english...so tell me guys If m wrong abt that...and one more doubt which I hated the most when used to see the comment of the guys asking the possibilty of their final selection but for me it's quite relevant now...what are the chances to get DEO if i clear DEST and fail in typing test which is most likely to happen...
