Hey Guys…Here is a concluding article…it’s a very important article which concludes our entire essay writing series. Hence, have a keen eye on the followings statements in this article. Please spend your 10 minutes of valuable time and read the entire article. Since a month, we have been covering all the major topics involved in Essay Writing section of CHSL descriptive right..!! I think we have covered almost all the important concepts that are to be kept in mind before we actually start preparing for Descriptive round.

In the previous article, I have mentioned that I will provide best books that are to be referred for preparing for CHSL descriptive round. I request you notice one point that, basically there are several numerous books available in market or online. But choosing the best books wisely makes the difference actually.
I have already told you that how to approach any article in my previous articles right..!! Although there are numerous books available, there are some standard materials and they are given below. Below are the books which I personally followed for my descriptive round 2016.
For CHSL Descriptive Essay Writing Section: (Recommended)
Book Name : 151 Essays by S C Gupta
For CHSL Descriptive Letter Writing Section: (Recommended)
Book Name : A Handbook for Letter writing by S C Gupta
Important: Both the above mentioned books are the books which I referred for my exam and hence told you people the same. It doesn’t mean that, other books are not important or not worthy reading for. It’s basically your choice to go ahead with concerned books, but whatever the book you follow…I suggest you to prepare in the strategy which can be implemented well in the Exam. Whatever the books you follow, you make sure you follow the basic rules of Essay writing and prepare according to the Guidelines for evaluation of essay.

Article 14:
Introduction to Letter Writing:
Till now we were discussing about Essay Writing section which is a bit tougher section than Letter Writing. Hence, I can say that Letter Writing is somewhat easier section when compared to Essay Writing. Here are the reasons that why Letter Writing Section is easier than Essay Writing Section.
1) There is a certain format we must follow for writing a Letter. Hence, candidates who follow that particular format will be given sure shot marks unlike in Essay Writing.
2) For a Letter, Number of words must be in between 150 – 200 words where as for Essay number of words must be in between 200 – 250 words. This obviously says that less writing effort is needed for writing a letter rather than for an essay.
3) Due to less number of words, i.e., 150-200 words, obviously it takes less time to write a letter during actual examination. If we can manage to complete it within 20 minutes of time then we can spend more than 35 minutes for writing an essay. (Duration of Descriptive – 60 minutes)
Here are some of the important details of Letter Writing Section,
Marks allotted for Letter/ Application Writing - 50 marks
Word Limit – 150 to 200 words
Exceeding word limit is => +-10% marks
