Hi All, Got a query regarding the awailing of sabbatical..Looks like I have to exhaust my EL and SL before availing sabbatical..I have critical deliverables in my project till March 31st wherein I cant take leaves till March 31st. If I have 48 EL and 10 SL and if the GLIM's PGPM course begins by April end,how do I proceed with the LWP?

Hi Puys,
I am a 3+ years TCSer.
I have two options:
1) NMIMS (Mumbai) (this year) 2) Great Lakes Chennai (next year)
GLIM is in TCS A grade bracket and hence I would be eligible for 10 lac (8+1.8) ctc directly.
NMIMS is not in the TCS A list and also has a placement status which is all blurry and hushed up.
(Only freshers there get >12 ctc is the rumour)
I am confused now cause GLIM means i 'Experience Certainity' but again NMIMS is a very big name in MBA world.
I know its my choice (and headache) but I want to know what you would have done if you were in my place.
(p.s: total cost would be nearly the same in both the colleges)

guys i am TCS employee and have my base location as MUMBAI , but i want to change my base location to hyderabad also i have a medical issue to represent to HR. my ILP is just finished and i am here in trivandrum as an LE that is learner enabler or can say as assistant faculty. I just wanted to know the time duration it takes for transfer from one location to anather when i have a meddical issue to show. Please guys i really wana change my base location. I have converted PGPM Great Lakes Chennai .I am interested to join TCS back. Can someone help me out with the following queries ( Work Ex - 24 months in TCS ) -
1) What is the procedure to Opt for sabbatical ?
2) I got a 'C ' Band Last time , is it gonna affect the future prospects ?
3) I have a Bond which will end on 27th March 2014 . So can I drop a resignation today , since I'll be serving the notice period until 1st April which will cover my Bond period ?
4) If I have to Opt for sabbatical , shall i drop a resignation mail today or wait to discuss the same with HR on Monday ? Was just thinking to drop a Resignation today as I'll save 2 days ..

In case of the designation change from Asst. Systems engineer to Systems engineer ( grade change from C1Y to C1 ) , the hike that we get is same for everyone or it depends on the band/rating ?

I want to quit tcs but i have 10 sick leave and 7 Earned leave, now how should i use these leave before leaving tcs . i am on bench so i also have to give 1 month notice period, and when i have to pay bond money 50k and when i will get back my gratuity fund. plz reply .
Can someone please tell the policy for sabbatical ppl in Great Lakes chennai .
I've read that ppl cannot sit for the companies offering same profile . So If I opt TCS sabbatical , I would not be able to appear for cogni/Infy and other IT companies . For the rest companies I would be able to sit .
But then someone mentioned that there has been a change in the policy this year , and something about the restriction put to not appear for more than 2 companies ( If you are on sabbatical ) .

I m on LWP from tcs soon would be done wid my mba(2012-14) jst wanted to know dat ...is there going to be any problem if i did not do my summer internship in TCS. Like in normal 2 yr mba.I did my my summers in some other company (not TCS) also i had done few of live project and weekend project wid other companies...is this against tcs sabbatical rules...thanks!
