Very good score boss .. Good luck if you are applying 😃

Lots of discussions about "diversity" in the last few pages

Just FYI, this thing reaches a whole new level AFTER you enter the b-schools, when companies come to recruit or offer PPO, etc.
So, nothing much to do other than making the best of what you have. There's no point in writing CAT/XAT year after year unless one has an exceptional profile. In the Indian MBA context, higher work-ex is usually detrimental to one's final placements.

Standard disclaimer applies to the above opinion :)

ATB!

Okay I had just a few questions about all this. The IIMs and other B-Schools will repeatedly tell that we are not placement agencies but they will gladly make way for corporate demands for higher marks.

Were the people passing out of these schools till now were so incompetent to the extent that such vigorous re-structuring of the selection process had to be done? So none of the alumni base built over the last 50 years with "poor" acads are in a position to deliberate on the company's hiring policy?

What he means to say is once you get inside a campus, having very high work-ex in excess of 40 months goes against you unless you have a very good work ex. The non-day zero bulk recruiters dont like people with very high work-ex. On the other hand you do get advantage in laterals if you have a good work-ex.

So there are a lot of variables.
@keeler.drummer : so is it good to be fresher sir ??
@Brooklyn Well it is a subjective thing, what is your background as a fresher, what have you done in your undergrads.

But all this will matter once you get in, first target should be to get inside

as Rahul sir just mentioned, one thing at a time people. First get into the college and then take it from there.

final yr btech 81% 12th 83% 10th .maintaining 60% for btech....a male and a engineer.....zero wrok exp..............only thing i have is my passion and sheer determination in achieving my goal.........my strengths r im gud at nos and i m gud wit ppl.......i m read a lot even though i m not a chronic reader.........i hope my story will b tat of an underdog achieving his passion through sheer will and grit.........i am givin it an all out effort

Sir if that means that me having a workex of 4+ years next year when appearing for PI ,will it be detrimental for my selection for IIM C. (i just come to know have to score 330+ according to this year criteria to get a call :banghead:) Means so large a work-ex means difficulty in getting summers and finals. I am working in electrical maintenance department. plz reply. In great uncertainty.
10th= 82
12= 74.8
