I have diploma in hrm so I am eligible for this exam or do I have some pursue some other diploma like Labour law/personal management/industrial relations etc
For interviews I studied from the notes I had prepared on labour laws, studied some issues related to Labour force - unorganized Labour force, changing Labour force scenario, problems of trade unions. Listened to discussion on proposed labour law changes on rajya sabha channel on YouTube. Apart from that prepared on basics of my hobbies, work experience and current events.
In the interview they asked about 10-11 questions, which ranged from topics like chess, quantitative Aptitude (I mentioned during the interview that I teach quantitative Aptitude), effect of technology & environment on labour force, hiring strategies in international hrm. I answered these questions fairly well.
Regarding Labour laws, they asked me the definition of workmen as per workmen compensation act, a particular section under factories act, why Labour courts and tribunals came into existence, difference between judicial courts and tribunals, liability to pay wages in case of legal but unjustified strike and illegal but justified strike, which are the miscellaneous acts under EPF Act, meaning of 'patients not responding' during a conciliation process, working hours and overtime provisions for adults and children under factories act. The total duration was around 20 minutes.
My first impression after the interview was that I had done just above average. But one thing I noticed was that I remained calm throughout the interview and never bluffed. I even took clarifications and thanked them for the clues they provided for me to answer.
Thanks Sandeep for sharing this....will you please share your email ID or contact no to have some few tips regarding this exam ....
The following document provides good details on labour laws. It also provides some basic on constitution, but I would suggest you to go slightly in depth from other sources for constitution.
