Total 57 posts are vacant in JTS grade of CLS. but some of them will be filled by DPC and some by DR. They will first decide those numbers and then only requisition may be sent to UPSC. Also, 3rd Cadre review of CLS is under progress... This may be the reason for delay because it will increase or decrease total strength and Ministry may send vacancies to UPSC once the cadre review is finished.
According to an rti response to vikas saini, vacancies have been reported to upto 57. Does that mean we could expect a notification atleast in the next 6 months?

This is the Gist from the three RTI . The Difference between Sanctioned seats under JTS and ALC+AWC may be on account of other posts in JTS like ALWC and AD (IR) .
Anyways one thing is clear-Cadre Review is under progress. The number of posts will be determined once review is done and then requisition is sent to UPSC.
What we should hope- 1. Cadre Review happens fast and seats of JTS are increased.
2. As against what the group B in Labour dept should rightly demand, the time period for promotion eligibility to JTS should not be fast reduced. In EPFO after such a reord the APFC are now more than sanctioned numbers.
