1) is welingkar worth getting into through mgmt quota.
2) Should i wait till 17th june for the final list??.. before asking for mgmt

my friend had inquired about the management seat at Welingkar and was told 12 lakhs....u can decide if its worth or not, when the avg. salary one gets after 2 years is just 3.5 - 4 lacs p.a.

This is my first post on Pagalguy! Unfortunately, it's a tragic one...:huh:
I really thought I'd nailed the admission, with 93 percentile in CAT, 92 percentile in CET and an awesome GD/PI, but no work ex...I don't know what else they were looking for, but after the PI I got the feeling that I was practically in! I had really wanted to get into Welingkar, and into PGDBA, specifically.
12 lakhs is about 6 times more than I can even think of paying above the annual fees...so I guess it's bye-bye Welingkar! Let's hope I can get a good college in the CET.
Any advice guys? Adi?

just wanted 2 know whether the fees is inclusive of the laptop charges? do we have 2 buy a laptop frm welingkar itself or is it ok if v buy 1 frm outside? also, wanted 2 know since i had opted for both pgpe biz and pgdbm, and am thru 2 e biz , then in this case is the closing higher for e biz or pgdm? ie, whether the first prefernce was given 2 ebiz or pgdbm?
also for all those who have got thru, i wld b trying 2 open a new link, but in the meantime if any of u are able 2 do it, then plz go ahead!

First class Aggregate in B.E.
6 months of workex in a Manufacturing Major.
So-so GD(Fishmarket,Mela,Sabji-mandi ...whatever..actually a combination of all three!:-x:-x:-x:-x:-x)

CET PERCENTILE : 90
WORK-EX - 3 YRS( Since Ca Articleship is considered as Work-Ex as mentioned in the form)
GD/PI - both excellent
I think I got in solely based on my Ca background.
Also as far as I saw CET/CAT percentile is not the major basis for selection. So a good score in either still doesnt give u a headstart.
Hmm I think I see only 2 of us into PGDBM ... others have got into the E-Biz Prog.
Even I am not through....Was really heart broken....
Has anyone got a wait list no?
Now lookg Fwd to CAT'05.... 😃 ...I believe what ever happens, happens for the BEST!

Laptop charges are extra. U can get ur own.
The procedure is that once u ppl come in, we will get the manfacturers to the campus for demos. Then a group of the juniors with help from their seniors and faculty negotiate a deal for a bulk purchase.
General trend is that we get them at around 60% of the mkt. price. e.g. last year we got HP laptops at 62.5K when the mkt. price was around 1L.
normally ebiz closes higher. the general procedure is tht the forms of ppl who have opted for ebiz or both are whetted by the dean, ebiz and systems and then the list is prepared for ebiz.
n e others who had opted for both get put back into the pgdbm pool and the shortlist for pgdbm is prepared.

Sherlock Holmes Saysi have a 97.77 percentile in CET and am studying Computer Engineering in the 2nd best Engineering college in Mumbai. had a good gd and pi, wonder why am I not selected? I'll take this as a blessing in disguise since i have a good job offer on hand (3.2 lacs p.a.) and can now give a better shot at CAT 2005 and make it to an A Grade B-school rather than settling for any less.
