yesterday was my cet gd pi gd went so well but pi went so bad that in both the cases i cannot explain u my experience but i have got through welingkar's pgpebiz prog mumbai campus but yaar i am not from the technical background i did MA eco and have a work ex of accounts executive in a company that's it now that the course structure of pgpebiz is more than pgdbm and its technical what suld i do please suggest sumthing never did computer course as well in my life please suggest sumthing regards mukta
aicte approved does not mean u get a degree. The college has processes in place for an approval but if u read my post carefully, I mentioned the problem it can create. n e way as it is with govt. organizations cant give u a proper timeframe.
changes between programs or centres will not be possible.

hey dp....it seems you are doing some major calculations and intense research b4 u planning to join Welingkar. Anyways ill help you out for your analysis....i dint get thru Wel and had applied only to PGDBM - Mumbai and nothing else.

Had applied only to PGDBM - Mumbai thru CET n CAT.. had a CET %ile of 92.71%ile. had a good GD and an above avg PI Presently working with Patni cOmp Sys. in bombay as S/W engg... DO i stand a chance?... what were ur scores? thinking of not joining even if i make it.. opinions? all the best n take care

I think wat Sumit means is as this guy is confident of making it to PGDBM (applied only for it), he shoud have had a good GD PI and a good score 2.

Also, have heard that Wel. " appreciates Management qouta seats". Was told by 1 of the officials. Also, for the people who any how wanna join this course, it would probably help them decide if they should take up other channels of just hope for the best in the subsequents lists.
Me insisting to share coz. there's no transparancy on the part of the institute.. the lists r simply virtual. We dont kno our merit numbers..

i got 85.12 percentile , am an fresh engineer. i wud rate 3 4 ma gd n 4 -4.5 for my pi. well i really tot , i had weling in ma bag. but was dissapointed. i had full plans to go ahead wid the mangement seat . but then i converted my sies call. they were lookin 4 20 studs n there were around 400 applicants . so now i m not lookin 4 the management seat . sies is a good n upcommin coll too . so if i make it thru in the 2nd list , i ll grab the offer , but i think it is unlikely , bcoz , weling is notorius 4 management seats ( done rnd ). so it will be only a surprise to find ma name in the 2nd list . also i think its really worth goin 4 management seat , if someone has doubts bout it . its an investment yu makin.. all the best ppls . and sumit , can u tell me , was goin thru yur mind . y such a research???

I am waiting for Welin. 2nd seat.. if not thru.. i might as well go for a M.Seat. but dunno if till then there wil be ne left. I think I still stand chances to feature in 2nd seat. opinion?... I think its a big amount.. and feel that its sensible to wait for some time rather than realizing at a later stage that it was an unnecessary shell out.. wat say? Actually I wanna leave my company nehow and take up a coll this yr.. have no exams left now. CET expected total -- 131.. I think Ill make it to some college like Vivekanand for MMS.. ne idea about the college n course? anticipating some help from u experts. Thanks in advance. All the best to applicants.

i wud n t like to dissapoint yu , but this year evryone wants to get into mba , tats the scene this yr . 140 tats wat am hearin too . sies has minority quota 4 south indians , so yu can count 50% seats out . i guess , yu really have a gud apptitude , don settle down 4 vivekanad mms . yu can always try nxt , yr . work exp really counts in admissn . i was lucky to get thru . sydneham test is round the corner , and yu can xpect tuff competion there too . all the best

me had applied to both d prgms..as everyone me 2 was vry confident about welingkar..donno where i went wrong.. me was thinking abt applying for a mgmt. seat.. but after going thru this thread i think there is competition for this also... newys, ppl on this thread who researching for some info...have u ne idead how much do they charge for d mgmt. seat? ppl have said tht its between d director and you, but still wanna find out d range...
hey jackal, congrats on making it 2 sies! as to y i m doing research, i feel that since we wld b investing not only 4 lac rps approx, but also 2 years in the course, it wld b better 2 have all the info b4 deciding? wat say, guys??? also, our form did not ask us 2 opt for either of the 2 courses on a priority basis, and the clg has randomly alloted the seats in pgdbm and e biz 2 those who had applied for both! my only worry was whether the ebiz course is good enuf! and guys, after all the research that i have done , i have been able 2 come 2 the conclusion that the e biz course is an upgraded version of the pgdbm course. ppl frm both the courses end up with approx the same placement! infact, this yr the highest package has gone 2 an e biz fella! the only glitch is that e biz is not yet aicte apprvd! but then once v join the clg, i along with other students would like 2 c wat can b done 2 get it aicte apprvd, if possible!
now abt the management seats! i have gone 2 the college at lst twice! wat i heard frm there was u need 2 call up the director's office and fix an appntmnt with him! then u need 2 go there along with ur parents!(coz they would b the ones shelling out the moolah...) also, there is no fixed "fees" for a seat! it depends on the director!(guyz convince him that u r good and deserve a seat... mayb... saste main ho jaaye!!!) my another co- e- biz person had gone there 2 pay his fees! and wat he was told was that the chances of a second list are not bright.. but it might yet come out! ( thats a nice way of saying YES and NO at the same time).guyz, i dont know whether 2 blv this or not! its ur call, u can decide for urself! neways byee!!atb!!! keep posting guys!!!

Hey Kaps fighter....i applied only for pgdbm...have a 97.77 percentile in CET. Would rate my Gd and Pi both at 4/5. I will be graduating from engineering this June 2005, so am a fresher and have a job at hand. I think I have a lot of potential in me and will make it to the big guns next year for sure.....so "other channels" for any college is out of the window for me.
hey with that I think ull make it to total around 146-147 in CET. I think you can make it to Welingkar MMS with that, rite?... I wud just suggest you to keep it alive till next year.. coz sometimes while working you loose the knick of being in touch with studies.. good that you have a job dost but take it up only if u can take out time to brush up regularly with your preparation. Meaning.. take it only if you will be able to remove some time outa it for studying. COz I have got some friends who took up work b4 their MBA and have lost touch with studies becoz of their busy routines. I have a profile of a SW eng. but luckily not in much pressure these days. but in the peak months I get only 5-6 hrs to sleep 😃 in a day. So, would advice you to take a careful call. ... still I belive for a person of your caliber not to settle with Welingkar or Below... give it a shot next year but dont loose touch friend. all the best.

Hey guys...just to remind u guys that when u talk about cut offs for MMS, u talk about the first list...but remember there r 3 lists...so while u SIES may go at 140 in the first list...u can be rest assured it may come down drastically in the second and third lists...my friend with a total score of 98 last year was getting Lala Lajpatrai (decent college...better than SIES if u ask me) in the second list...so plz. make sure that u guys fill up the second and third list forms too...
and about wellingkars...well...chances are that there would be no second list...my friend had a 92%ile in CAT last year...10th std. 88%...12th std. 80% (comm.)...grad 75% (BMS)he didn't make it...he went to wellingkar to inquire about the second list and was told that everyone had taken admissionanad there won't be a second list...lol...could u believe that!

HSC, SSC, 8th 9th ...primary secondary and nursery results, i'll tell u ppl when we meet at Weli's. My net connection was gone and later my IE showed errors when i tried to read PG or then post. Bloody nightmare. Finally i got thru here and i think we can safely say tht it is one of the best colleges in mumbai. obviously i a from mumbai and anyone needing any info can contact me along with jay and sumit, so tht we can be ideal hosts from out station ppl. JAY mere bhai aakhir hum ek hee college mein, i shud start calling myself Veeru!! Bad one i know! Hey guys orientation is on 27th so meet u all there! and hope we dont have to read those 2 books b4 tht??!! bugs

hi! i had been 2 wlngkr's 2 pay da fees 2day! till arnd 1pm toady 58 ppl had taken up the seats in pgdbm and 27 had taken up the seats in e-biz! therefore, i did ask abt the chances of a waiting list! the officer said, cnt say!!! so guys, keep ur fingers crossed! and hope for the best! hope this concrete info abt the no of ppl who have enrolled helps those who r waiting for the next list! byee!!! atb 2 all!!!
