i wanted to know they do welingkar gives preference to cat score as compared to atma score. i mean if a person scores 90 %ile in cat and 92 %ile in atma.then should he use cat score or atma?
i have this doubt .plz calrify if u know?
also approx how many freshers are there in 2010 batc??

Last year i applied for Welingkar using XAT score....

Xat score: 84 percentile
Job-ex: 1 year
Academics:
Graduation: 70%
XII: 72%
X: 80%

However, i didnt get a call for interview.....
Can any one tell me which part or parts of the selection criteria (score/job-ex/academics) i might not have cleared.....

hey friend
welingkar doesn't give profile based calls. its only criteria for call is ur score in XAT/ATMA/CET/CAT.ur acads and work ex come into play only during the interview process.
seeing ur profile i just wonder why u were not given a call.
the only reson i can think of is ur xat score being less in that particular year.
but what about this year? hope u make it big this time.

the basic eligibility criteria for admission is is 50% in grads
the weightage given to acads in the overall process is just 10/300....nearly negligeable
so considering this fact there would be no problems for you to get admission if you score well in the other parameters
Weightage of marks
Admission Test 100
Group Discussion 50
Personal Interview 70
Psychometric Test 50
Academic Performance 10
Work Experience 20
Total: 300
the cut-off levels of percentage & percentile scores (section-wise and/or total as case may be) of the candidates in the admission test who are called for GD/ Interview
Student is short listed if
Final score (CAT/MH-CET/ATMA/XAT score + Work Experience Marks + Academic Performance marks) 59/130
last two years cut-off percentage & percentile (section-wise and/or total as the case may be) of the candidates called for GD / Interview.-
2007- Final score (CAT/MH-CET/ATMA/XAT score + Work Experience
Marks + Academic Performance marks) 52/130
2008- Final score (CAT/MH-CET/ATMA/XAT score + Work Experience Marks + Academic Performance marks) 59/130
The written test score is taken into consideration using the score converting process offered by DTE since Welingkar accepts CAT/ CET / XAT and ATMA scores



It's not clear on an account which is privy to Welingkars. How do we calculate weightage (outa 100 marks), in proportion to our CAT/XAT %tiles? So it's tough to decide to apply or not.

You can give whatever score you want to give they will consider the best score out of it. Regarding the freshers composition I have no idea as I am not an alumni.

Your XAT score was less buddy. I think last year the calls were given according to profile. Because I had scored 94%ile in CET and applied through it got a call too. But there were many who have not got call having same percentile or more in CET/ATMA. I had done some analysis for this and found that there acads were also at par with mine but I had more exp (approx 3 yrs).

Any score above 90%ile can hope to have call from Welingkar. Below that I think the chances are dim.
