Any one has any good source for XAT essays? Purpose is to read some sample essays so that I can get an idea how good/bad I am in essay writing.

The ratio of the number of apples to oranges to pears is 7:11:9. 

Timmy ate 21 fruits.
As a result, the ratio of the number of apples to oranges to pears 
became 2:3:3. How many fruits were left ?

A firm manufactures 2 bulb bedroom lamps and 4 bulb living room lamps. Each day they get a consignment of 480 bulbs and 180 shades. Determine how many of each lamp they should manufacture to yield a maximum profit if their profit on a 2 bulb lamp is Rs 20 and on a 4 bulb lamp is Rs 35.What is the maximum profit.?

A. 4000

B. 4500

C. 5000

D. 5500

Sam had never fully understood the points system in soccer (football), and felt that the scoring of goals should be encouraged. His idea is that 10 points should be awarded for a win, 5 points for a draw and 1 point for each goal scored, whatever the result of the match. 


This was tried with three teams, Hubs, Dins and Rungs.


Each team scored at least one goal in every mach and no team played another more than once.


Hubs scored 8 points, Dins 14 points and Rungs scored 9 points.

aLLiteration: 

The repetition (remember the two LL's)  of the same initial letter, sound, or group of sounds in a series of words( tongue twisters)

e.g. She sells seashells by the seashore

Onomatopoeia:The use of a word to describe or imitate a natural sound or the sound made by an object or an action.

Example: snap crackle pop

Non Sequitir: A statement that doesn't logically follow from the premise

e.g Tables have at least four legs, tables are made of wood.

since its only 6 days left for XAT can you please give some tips for XAT... we all are atttempting past year papers as mock and scoring good marks..but still you tips will be valueable...

Shahrukh speaks truth only in the morning and lies in the afternoon, whereas Salman speaks truth only in the afternoon and lies in the morning. A says that B is Shahrukh. Is it morning or afternoon and who is A - Shahrukh or Salman?

Guys, let us participate and add few current events so that it will help in essay (in case essay it is not abstract and related to the current happenings). Because just 5 days left and essay is as important as clearing XAT cutoff. May be few topics will do too.
