BigMarket is an online grocery store located in New Delhi. Apart from Delhi, this store also has its franchisees in various other metro and urban cities like Mumbai,, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad etc. The company is engaged in the stocking and delivery of various daily needs and grocery orders of its customers.
The founder of the company, Mr. Rajesh, was reviewing the policies of the company to find the bottlenecks in the process and expand the company's business to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities also. His vision was to expand the company as fast as possible and stay far ahead of the growing competiton in the e-commerce space.
Now, in order to reap huge profits, the company was keen on ensuring the fastest delivery service to its customers, including necessary replacements when asked for by the customers. It demanded the delivery guys to be well-behaved and customer-friendly at all times. If any delivery or service boy was found guilty of even the slightest misconduct in his job, he would be terminated with immediate effect without any further probe. Any customer complaint arising out of dissatisfaction or not meeting expectations would have the same consequence of being terminated immediately without any probe.
Mohan, a delivery guy, received an order to deliver 5 packets of biscuits to a routine customer, Sandeep. Mohan left on time for his destination and delivered the parcel to Sandeep, Sandeep, however, had this peculiar behaviour of rechecking the items ordered and then paying the cash for the delivery. On receiving and opening the parcel, Sandeep found that the biscuits in one packet were broken and crushed. Also the number of biscuits in the packet were fewer than those in the other packets. Sandeep got irritated and started arguing with Mohan. When Mohan declined the accusation, Sandeep called up Nikhil, the delivery manager and complained to him about Mohan's attitude. He even spoke to the customer care department and scolded them for the lax behaviour on their part. Mohan feared that he might lose his job for something which he was not responsible of.
Being a prudent delivery manager, Nikhil knew that it was the habit of a few customers to overreact to mild issues. Given this circumstance, he wanted to save Mohan as he knew Mohan could not do such a thing.
What would be the best choice for Nikhil to opt for?
- E) Fix up a meeting among the three of them and try to convince Sandeep that Mohan was innocent and placate him in an amicable way to take back the complaint.
- B) Ask Mohan to resign as the company policy had to be followed and not doing so could land Nikhil in trouble.
- C) Suggest Mohan to apologize to Sandeep and return with the defective packet to replace it.
- D) Try to probe the reason for which this happened since Sandeep had never complained earlier.
- A) Speak to the customer care department and convince them that Mohan is innocent.

Does GK affect my overall percentile?
Anyone having XAT centre IDZ, Powai? PM me.
How should the negative of .10 affect my strategy. Should I aim to attempt more or stick to my earlier strategy ?
Does better percentile better your chances at conversion or you just have to clear a certain cutoff to receive a call and the percentile has no further bearing on your conversion? Or is the GK part alone relevant once you are called for the interview?
What's the preferred approach to xat by majority? I'm more like follow the serial order, do/skip without giving a damm to strategy models. 😂
*Urgent* Is it necessary to paste the same photo in the XAT admit card as the uploaded one ?

Less than 24 hours to go for XAT 2019.. What to do.. What not do.. Tips from an XLRI alumnus. Hey Folks. Having aced XAT and graduated from XLRI a few years ago, I wanted to share some tips on what to do and what not to do with less than 24 hours left for the exam. This is what worked for me.
What to Do
# 1. Stop all preparations – Please DO NOT continue any preparations. You have prepared well all this while so stressing yourself now is not going to help any bit. At best, you can work on a weak area for an hour ( this is for those who like last minute prep.. Rest of you stop any preparations).
# 2. Distract yourself from XAT – Do the things you like to do. It could be anything – going for a movie with friends, watching cricket, football, sitcoms, listening to music, chilling with friends. A few recommendations – The Mentalist on Amazon Prime, Andhadhun- movie of the year on Netflix, India vs Australia – highlights on Sony Liv, Super Dancer on Sony.
#3. Get a good night’s sleep – This is easy to say, but the best way to do this is to make your body do this to you. If you play any sports or workout, just play a small game of badminton, or work out in the gym, or do something which gives you some activity without wearing you out. Good sleep and fresh mind is important.
#4. Plan your strategy for XAT – D Day – Play to your strengths. Read the question and attempt it only if you see yourself working it. A very important key to ace XAT is to not attempt every question. Be selective and go for the kill. Different people have different strategies. Chose what works and don’t change your strategy now. Back yourself.
#5. Dream – Dream that you have cleared XAT and got into XL. When you strongly desire something and dream continuously, then the world will conspire to fulfil your dreams. XL is one of the best B schools in India and you need to strongly desire it. Only if you have a strong desire, will the world conspire to get you into XL.
What Not to Do
#1. Do not prepare/solve anything now
#2. Do not have any expectations about your performance. Don’t keep any benchmarks of results and put unnecessary pressure on yourself.
#3. Do not discuss anything about the exam with friends/family/others.Just chill
#4. Do not over eat. Eat light
#5. Do not do any intense physical activity.
#6. Do not kill yourself that you have not prepared this section/that section
#7. Do not let your EGO come in the way and answer a question/answer every question if you feel you are not confident and even if you have spent fair amount of time
#8. Do not worry about exam paper being tough. Its tough for everybody.
#9. Do not attempt questions which you are not confident.
#10. Do not spend too much time on one single question.
Final words..Just chill. Its just another exam. Don’t set high expectations and kill yourself. The most CALM people clear XAT and join XL. The tense people do not clear XAT. XL looks for calm, composed, balanced yet aggressive individuals who have high ethical standards. All the best folks. May you achieve your dreams.

My theory: With negative marks for N-8 unattempted questions being raised from 0.05 to 0.1, it now makes sense to attempt all questions using the theory of probability provided you mark the same option for all the questioins you were planning not to attempt. You will observe that the tradeoff is actually favourable and you will lose fewer marks as you are bound to get around 20% of the answers right when you guess and that shall be enough to compensate for the wrong answers.
Basically, marks lost by not attempting > marks lost by guessing
So it makes more sense to guess instead of leaving the questions unattempted.
Any views anyone?
Admit card can be black and white?
Does spjain consider Xat Gk in the selection or is it only for Xlri in the final selection?
