the last date for XIMB has not yet been set but probably its gonna be sometime around the 1st week of December...generally it is one month ahead of the exam...

The last date for XIMB Registration is December 08, 2006 and for receiving application fee along with Payment Advice Form is December 15, 2006. Visit ximb.ac.in for more details.

there is no specific cut-off for admissions @ XIMB even under the domicile quota...

the calls are given on the basis of various components having different weightages...(XAT score being a major component)..so it all depends on your overall profile...

the domicile quota is not applicable for the pgprm course...

the intake for the programme is 60 students...

from this year onwards, intake wud br thru both IRMA & XAT Exams..

Comparison of your college with IMT, SYMBIOSIS(SCHMRD,SIMB), NARSEE MONJEE.
With respect to placement in finance(Organization who visited) and overall.


Sectional Cutoff in Verbal section(Both percentile and score out of 40 for your institution).
What will be the weightage of Essay for getting a gd/pi.

Nice work here and on other threads related to XAT etc. I gave XAT in 2004 and got thefollowing %iles

Eng: 96.XX
G.K. 94.xx
QA: 65.XX

QA was the nemissis. Unfortunately for me (and fortunately for many of the junta) GK no longer a part. I have not read anything specifying the same in XAT bulletin this year. But the exam pattern has questions on Eng, QA & DI. So guess GK is out for me 😞

As you mentioned that for XIMB 95+ %iles are required and in individual sections one needs to have adequate scores. Cud u prbably quantify "Adequate Scores" in terms of %tile?
Your individual thoughts on my profile as u mite have seen quite a lot od sucessful profiles in XIMB ??:

10th - 68%
12th - 68%
B.COm (Pass Course) - DU Correspondence - 55.6
Work Ex: Total Work Ex. 50 months, relevant i.e after grads 38 months. (Both as of 31/12/2006).
Currently working with R Systems, Noida as Asst. Manager - Sales. It's a IT company.

No IT background as such. Would really appreciate if you can shed some ligt on the above asked queries.

comparision of b-schools is not allowed on this forum... so i refrain from doing that..the only info i can provide in this regard is that there are students @ XIMB who had converted their calls in the institutes mentioned by you but still joined XIMB...and one of them includes me...

most probably, there is no weightage of the essay for XIMB but the authorities over here get a copy of the essay to be used for reference in the GD/PI...


Cut-off for Verbal should be around - 90%ile - cannot say about the specific score....coz that again depends because of the relativity...

adequate score for QA should be around 84%ile...i'm saying this by the little comparative info that i have...coz a few of my acquaintances did not get a call from XIMB despite having 99 %ile plus coz they had a low score in QA - 76%ile - 81%ile... and a few of them got thru @ 84%ile with around 97%ile are so in the overall score..

the only deficiency in ur profile is with respect to the correspondence graduation...but i think u can make up that given the work-ex you have....
but i'll also have to check out whether the eligibility criteria in the prospectus specifies "full-time graduation" or not....


IT background or not is not really a big issue...

The wesite says the following about the eligiibility:

Eligibility
The minimum requirement for admission to the Programme is: A three-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as eligible for Post-Graduate studies in Management. Candidates who expect to complete the final part of their degree examinations by June 15, 2007, may also apply. Offers of admission to such candidates, if made, will be provisional and will be automatically cancelled in the event of their failing to complete all the requirements for obtaining the degree before June 15. A student after joining a programme in this Institute will not be permitted to sit for any examination of any other institution or agency.

So I believe correspondence would not be an issue. Started working after my second yesr of grad. so that I believe shud cover up for correspondence.

Please fill me in if you able to find anything more. Really appreciate the fantablous effort put in in by all the seniors.

hi,

i think the admissions office would take a week's time to respond back to you....since you had sent the draft on saturday, we assume that Speed Post wud deliver it on Tuesday...and your application would've been processed on Wednesday or today...so the earliest you can expect a reply is Saturday or maybe Monday...

so just chill for the time being... and be assured that if you have sent the draft, it wud get processed...

in case u dont get a response till Monday, get back to me and i'll check it out from the Admissions Office...
